Spilling folded paper notes and
Cold salt water and
Moonlight
Between sips of saviored beer
Tongues twisting in elegiac hymn
Young ghosts in graying suits
All at once, delighted
Crying. Laughing.
Sprinting naked through the dark
Like mad children.
Like moonlight could find us in the empty rooms
Spill down and fill the
Hollowness
Float the heaviness
Like it could find us at the edge of
Time.
We run like dogs on fire
Cut lips and fingers on cat tooth
And broken bottles

Until the day broke again
