There probably was no demand for all the high end materials, so they all dropped in price to next to nothing. Gold's worthless when you're starving. Labour became so dirt cheap too, why not spend the extra few hours making sure everything is perfect. Not to mention, when the economy downturns, the competition for the few remaining jobs is so high that everybody puts in their best. -

During WWII, the Brits elected Winston Churchill. Winston was not known as a compassionate or stand up man. He was a tough man, who had a tough job to do, and had the guts to do it. Having those abilities as a leader outweighs a little bit of corruption or a couple insults recorded in private. As mentioned, everybody who gets to such huge positions of power will do it with a little corruption. The question isn't who is corrupt or not, they all are. The question is who can lead the country the best. -

If it's nurtured, we're best off to get rid of it.

Third it has less recoil while retaining more or less the same ballistics. 308 was the replacement for the 30-06, why go with an outdated standard? -

Why the 30-06 preference? 308 has practically same performance as 30-06 in a smaller package. Benelli makes semis in 30-06 too. FN is making some new BARs which look sweet, called the FNAR. -

Yes I'm mounting it to an M305 receiver. Gonna sell of the rest of my guns. This is the only one I need for hunting, plinking, etc.
M305 receiver is legal in Canada, as it was built as a semi auto. M14 receivers are illegal as they were built as full auto.
Hence I'll get the closest thing to a real M14 rifle you can legally own in either US or Canada. -
