I traveled all over the island trying to find these dudes in the wild. Also saw a deer with fangs (muntjac) which was badass and something that this 50yr old man I made friends with there said he had never seen in his entire life in Taiwan. They are extremely rare and endangered. I have pictures but they aren't super great. -

I got lucky this year and a pair of cardinals and a family of doves have nested by my house. They got 2 little babies and a week or two ago the babies got separated and hung out right in front of our patio window for HOURS and were not scared by anyone looking at all. They were curious if anything.
