And lol, if you aren't supposed to take it literally you are just going off what, interpretations. Whose interpretation. What gives them the divine right to speak on these matters? There are all kinds of priests and there is no unanimous interpretation.

I agree that people shouldn't take it literally, but I also think people shouldn't take it seriously either. Spirituality is meant to be fluid, not set by a list of rules and scat-shattered ideological dumps that need to be interpreted before you can apply it to your daily life. This whole idea of interpretation just stems from when it was only the priests who were literate, and thus controlled things like money/food/supplies and often times used it for their own advantage. You had to rely on their interpretation because you literally had no other choice.

If people make their own individual interpretations then the whole idea of having an organized religion in the first place falls apart. Gays can't marry? Fuck you, I think they can. We can't eat fish? Fuck you, I'm going to eat salmon. Slowly over the centuries we have dropped more and more of this strict religious doctrine as we've adopted a more liberalized society. Interpretations change, as does the religion itself. There is no set 'Christianity'.

Also the Korean betabet is based on English, not Chinese. They don't use the same characters as Chinese. They use a modified form of Korean script which developed independently and is more related to Mongolian than the language of the Han, who are from the south.
