Thank you I will disregard it.
  3. My friend got a 5 week old cat and it started to not shit or eat/drink. He woke up today and it was having trouble walking and seemed barely conscious so I left to go take him to the vet.

Apparently it is hyperglycemic. Hopefully it doesn't have the beetus and it's just young kitty problems. Anybody ever deal with sick kitties? It's staying at the hospital overnight and possibly longer.

I hope it'll be OK it's a really cute cat.
  4. Originally posted by Jiggaboo_Johnson Of course, but there are "shades" of disrespect like anything. You probably don't understand what that means…the slow change of shade from generation to generation took a giant pantone leap in the last 40yrs.

Also it's not simply about "disrespect" it's about behavior too, and the millenials mindset of general entitlement rather than a desire to contribute to society.

Just more excuses for the same cyclic bullshit.
  5. Originally posted by HTS That study is referenced in your study. Just sayin'. And I don't think an absolutist "only liberals are empathetic, because no true empath is tribalistic" is supported by your study either. In-group preferences concerning empathy don't preclude a person from being empathetic (or even preclude them from being more driven by emotional/empathetic responses).

Referenced but not in the countext you claim. You are giving your opinion. This study looks at DATA.

If you can find this imaginary comprehensive argument you mentioned I'd love to hear it but otherwise u r falling flat on your tits here miss

I can't really give too much info but its split evenly between 3 people so not all mine. I mostly just live off income from my cousin's investment firm. Keeping it separate stops me from doing dumb shit like buying another piece of shit house.

I'll be frank I just ask my cousin for advice whenever it comes to financial matters. Never been steered wrong. I thought about going to school for a business degree to be a little bit more financially literate but I dont actually NEED to so why bother? I'll be taken care of my whole life.

  9. Originally posted by WellHung It's all done per capita. There are ways of equating things. Learn about statistics, §m£ÂgØL. Politics aren't the be-all/end-all.

Lmao how ironic. I know its per capita. That doesn't change anything. There are more crimes committed in urban areas per capita than in rural areas. Because that's what happens when you stick a bunch of poor people in one spot. Thats why modern city planning disperses it throughout the city. There is no 'hood' in Japan.
  10. Originally posted by the man who put it in my hood It's just drugs you can't really blame a person when they are abusing cocaine

Yeah you can. Drugs don't make you inculpable. Not legally and not morally. This is something that people who have done shitty things on drugs usually say. Truth is they'd be a piece of shit without the drugs.

I've been addicted to all kinds of shit and I never hurt anyone in doing it

Don't beat a dead horse Obbe. You already destroyed him multiple times in this thread. He's lost and now its his own personal issue to deal with it.

    All your politicians are left.
  14. Originally posted by HTS On the topic of tribalism and empathy, it's not so cut and dry. Liberals don't empathize well with conservatives, for instance. Are liberals still empathetic? Yes. In-group/out-group preference plays a role across the political spectrum (this is - allegedly, according to the abstract at least - corroborated by Hasson, Tamir, Brahms, Cohrs, & Halperin, 2018) - at best you can say liberals are more likely to be empathetic towards out-groups than conservatives, not that conservative empathy doesn't exist because it doesn't include [as many] outgroups. Liberals are less tribalistic, but they're still tribalistic. It's still selective. Not really interested in going down a research paper rabbithole here though, so I'm totally willing to concede that the study you posted in the OP represents the most up-to-date and accurate information on the subject (whether that be true or not).

What I'm mostly interested in is if this is the same study I was thinking of (that got it completely backwards at first). Or if it was a different study. Or if that study even exists and whether or not I'm going crazy.

Lol @ citing a different study and making anecdotal cross observations.

There's a reason they get paid to interpret data, and you don't.
  15. Originally posted by HTS If so many people have "comprehension" issues when it comes to the shit you say, maybe it's not them… maybe it's because you're an inscrutable moron who has an ego inversely proportional to the number of his sincerely held beliefs, who makes nonsensical arguments about minutiae because he's too mentally handicapped to meaningfully dispute anything substantive in an opponent's argument or to even remain consistent in his own arguments.

  16. Originally posted by Jiggaboo_Johnson You were talking about a group I identify with, one which you stereotyped wrongly.

Again comprehension is a thing you might try to learn.

Pot calling the Adonis black. Not everything is about you.
  17. Those 'safest cities' lists are bullshit. Bumfuck nowhere Michigan is safer than Detroit Michigan? Yeah, no shit! Only 5 people live there. There hasn't been a crime in Bumfuck, MI since Mr. Gibford got a speeding ticket in 1991.
  18. wellHung is a backstabbing scum and I advise nobody actually give him their number. I'm trying to decide who I dislike more, him or Bill Krozby. And I think I have to go with Bill Krozby. But they're both pretty fucking awful and should be wiped from the face of this planet.
  19. Originally posted by HTS I'm not disputing this because I can't find the source I'm thinking of and it may not even be disputable, but wasn't this study (or one very similar to it) completely flawed? Didn't it turn out that they punched in some numbers wrong or something, and it turned out that right wingers were more prone to empathetic/emotional decision making? Or was that the original conclusion and it was revised to this? Either way kind of makes intuitive sense (rightwing emotional/empathetic thinking is why they're so defensive about things like border control - they're trying to keep people safe from their point of view).

Anyone have any idea what the hell I'm talking about or am I completely off my shit?

If you actually read it, this is addressed.

Conservatives are more protective of their fellow citizens than liberals. This is not the same as having empathy. Empathy is helping your neighbor, not trying to keep your neighbor out to protect yourself. Selective empathy is not empathy, it is tribalism. Even Hitler loved Germany, you know?
  20. Originally posted by Sophie "racist district dependent funding laws"

    Calm down conspiracy theorist.

It's not a conspiracy theory. These methods were developed since the early 1900's with the open intention of segregation and zoning planners do the same thing today.

You also don't know how US school funding in the USA works. In your country it is literally in the constitution that all schools have equal funding. This is so that everyone gets an equal education. Most developed countries have this.

Here we do it by local taxes. Live in a shitty neighborhood, get a shitty school. This is to the point that poor areas have schools closing in the US because they cannot afford to keep open or make repairs that would allow them to do so. There was a school here in Chicago that had to stop using the Gymnasium because pipes had bust through the flooring and they could not afford to fix it. The school shut down.

This ensures that poor people remain in a situation where they are unable to get the same education as anyone else. Even Mexico does school funding at the federal level so that everyone has access to an equal education.
