Yeah this is probably going to cause an entire wave of issues that will last decades. Like with polio. Should be noted that most people who contracted polio were asymptomatic as well.
Stuff with a high mortality rate (like ebola or rabies) doesn't spread well. People get very sick and don't move around a lot. They're obviously sick so people stay away.
The most insidious and damaging diseases are ones like Covid-19, where people can spread it without knowing. -

Best I can figure is 'abschaum' but I don't know if it really carries the racist/discriminatory connotation or not.
I'm hoping for an 'outdated' word as I know the Germans have actually thrown out a lot of the vernacular after WWII, going so far as to remove stuff from the dictionary.
