This was also the decade where Trent Reznor would make a career out of making movie soundtracks. That was an interesting development. Gone Girl is one of my favorite albums of the dacade.
What's your favorite music you came across during the decade?
This decade for me started off big, I discovered rutracker and spent all of 2010 and 2011 listening to so much music. I would download entire discographies for bands and labels, building my digital archive that I would end up deleting because I missed listening to music with a physical collection. During this time the most interesting band I came across and what has been the best discovery of the decade for me was a Japanese experimental band called Contagious Orgasm, I later found out the man behind it, Hiroshi Hashimoto, contributed to one of my favorite games of all time .Hack GU. He reminds me of a sort of avant garde Susumu Hiraswawa.
Around that time in 2010 I also discovered Access to Arasaka which was introduced to me by a fellow Lain worshipper.
Also during that time I got into Japanese net labels and discovered some of my favorite sounds. All in all the first two years were great years for music. In 2012 I discovered Yung Lean and cloud rap which would be my favorite music during my 420 pothead years from 2012 to 2015. In late 2015 I became homeless and my music life came to a halt, so from 2016 to 2019 I stopped looking for new music.
I'm curious to see what the 2020s will evolve to in regards to music.
