I get people who owe me money to get me the shatter at retail rates because I hate going in dispenseries or dealing with pot dealers. A friend of mine asked if I wanted to buy into a weed company he's becoming a partner in and I refused and got mad because he wasn't taking no for an answer because he was drinking.
Potheads are the same as cokeheads or junkies; they let a drug define their personality but they're worse in a way because it's an innocuous drug and they're just searching for an identity to co-opt. In a way I'm glad it's being made legal because hopefully that will end some of the faggotry, or at least make some faggots find something else to whine about but I also worry it's widespread acceptance will lead to an acceptance of the worst aspects of weed culture. I've sold a ton of it in my life and so have my friends and none of them smoke very much weed. It's the same rationale with "getting high on your own supply" if you smoke too much weed and buy into the faggotry you're going to he terminally unsuccessful.
Fuck everyone who praises it's "medical benefits." Maybe cbd is good for kids with epilepsy but if weed can somehow cure your problems they weren't problems to begin with. Weed helps my anxiety and stomach problems and little bit and can put me in a better mood but these are things I can deal with in other ways, I'm just lazy. Weed doesn't do a goddamn thing for pain and may be it makes chemo easier to manage but so does fentanyl why not legalize that?
A lot of working class people smoke weed to deal with their shitty hamster wheel lives and it should be legal for them to mitigate the pain that existence causes them. Smoking weed when you have no job turns you into a shiftless carbon scourge and is akin to fat people overeating on welfare. Weed licenses should be issued on a case by case basis dependent on how much of a Fuck up you are. Same with licenses to procreate. I've returned, you can stop worrying and get a good night sleep. I am not balogna nacho, who would have surely perished in this hurricane.
I look back at my old replies and it appears I devolved into some sort of evolutionary creature , from an earlier, simpler time.
First of all, I'm sorry I don't have the amazing footage and pictures I promised. It was hard to get any good footage as the worst times were at night, and I couldn't open my front door to get much because it would have obviously blown the front door off at best times. This is a quick thread going over some things, but if I ever transfer the stuff from my other camera I might make another thread but by then Florence will already be older news than it arleady is.
I wandered around the house 3 days, some windows boarded but dark out always, non stop wind and rain, unsure if it was day or night or morning or what. My sleep was FUCKED, and with lack of tiz (oh I'm gucci now tho) it made it all that more difficult. But yeah it was a long and confusing 3 days, you wake up and think man theres no way its still hurricaning out *stumble to front door* *WHOOOSHH* "Good lord it feels like its been doing this a week" Heres a random picture of a tree on a house. And a short video with no sound of some of the gusts.
The worst by far, was after the storm. When the sun came out, and eating, sleeping, and staying clean was quite a chore.
The heat of Monday morning, and from what the radio was saying at least a minimum of a few days without electricity, was going to be the shitkicker. And of course I was one of the last to get power, 9 FUCKING DAYS WITHOUT POWER. Whens the last time you went that long without power? Its HOT, your supplies are LOW, the inhabits of the city are scampering around like rats in hopes of finding fuel and ice. Fist fights breaking out over snicker bars.
I looked and felt like this day in and day out, soon getting used to waking up to the backfire of the neighbors generator, or just some random loud noise, drenched in sweat.
A puzzle, a radio, an acoustic guitar, and lanterns/flashlights keep me sane and somewhat entertained in the days of heat and pooping in a toilet, only to go outside and get a bucket of water to pour into the toilet to get it to flush (Yeah thats how it works for those you retards arguing about how flushing toilets work)
Oh yeah I made it ON the radio and got to call in! And they were all "Hello you're on the air" and I was like "Oh dude are you serious? YEAAHHH I've never made it on the air before whats up!!?!" and now I am a local celebrity.
I parked my car at my friends house because she asked me to so people would think she's home and wouldn't get robbed, which I didn't understand because by her liberal mind people will only come out and help everyone after a catastrophe right?!? Nobody would think of taking advantage of the situation and looting and breaking in would they?!? That'd be racist to think!! God what a fucking idiot she is.
So while I park my car in suburban retard zone some of the only damage done was when some dumbass didn't put up their grill and it flew into my Volkswagen.
On the 5th or so day with no power, I got to watch copters put a spotlight across the street cause apparently sheriffs had to come get some dude out of a trailer because the heat/lack of medication got to him and he was shooting off guns and acting erratic. Of course I'm not a weak minded person, so I was still mentally in-tact and thriving.
All in all I'm glad I stayed to make sure everything was okay and I'd be here if family needed me. Might have caused a rift/end in one of the longest friendships I've ever had, but if she doesn't understand why I stayed and I should be just as mad she abandoned me, then our friendship must not have been worth much of a damn anyway.

Turns out it was the SATA controller on the mobo that was causing intermittent read failures, but of course there's no good way to know that without testing the PSU, the mobo, and each of the drives separately. So I end up doing a return/replace on that and that's like a couple of hours of disassembly and re-doing the thermal paste on the other side, and a couple weeks of procrastinating and waiting on the mail.
New mobo arrives and I go through the assembly song and dance again. Get my shit installed, RAID set up all nice. Then I plug it into my TV thinking it might be nice to use for media playback too and I learn I can't get smooth playback out of it at 4K. Not surprising, I wasn't expecting a budget APU to be able to do it but I remembered I had a Radeon HD 6<something or other> in my closet from a gaming build a number of years ago. Mobo has a slot for it and the PSU can support the extra draw so I figure I'll give it a try. Problem is the card was not designed for a tiny ITX case and is longer than the mobo, extends into the drive bays. Actually if the bays are empty it'll fit, but when they're in the lock-in clip things extend too far. I find everything works if I pull the drives out and have them hanging out the side but that's not exactly a good time. The drive bays are actually reversible so I can turn them around to get everything to fit, but my screwdriver is too long to fit in the box (that's what she said) to unscrew stuff, so I have to disassemble like 60% of the chassis to make it work and reroute all the cables which took for fucking ever and made my knees sore since I was doing it on the floor (also what she said).
But at long last it lives and I have my seedbox and music collection backed up on redundant storage and a synchronized mirror of all my github repos. Next up is NiS database backups and email backups, and VLC playback controls over SSH or something similar.

Last weather event, I took the S.S. Zoklet out for a paddle when Hurricane or tropical storm Arthur hit the coastline.

Present Day:
I'll be staying by myself, not too far from the incoming storm surge. I now have a waterproof camera, and expect to catch some excellent footage of the beauty nature has to offer.

After an argument with my best friend, over to leave or stay, she took her dog and started driving, and she'll be 7 hours to the north of me. I'm beginning to think I made a stupid decision to not go with her, make sure she is safe, and enjoy the conveniences of electricity and internet. And in text form she is letting me know how much of a selfish asshole I am for staying.
As the emergency broadcasts interrupts the regularly scheduled programming , and the once bright room becomes dark, with only slivers of light coming through the boards (usually never board windows) that I'll surely miss as nightfall comes, the full weight of my decisions bare down on me.
I've made sure to blame any misfortunes on any and everyone I know, especially close family who did not evacuate. Which reminds me

The SVP-24 then computes an “envelope” (speed, altitude, course) inside which the dumb bombs are automatically released exactly at the precise moment when their unguided flight will bring them right over the target (with a 3-5m accuracy).
In practical terms this means that every 30+ year old Russian “dumb” bomb can now be delivered by a 30+ year old Russian aircraft with the same precision as a brand new guided bomb delivered by a top of the line modern bomber.
Not only that, but the pilot does not even have to worry about targeting anything. He just enters the target’s exact coordinates into his system, flies within a defined envelope and the bombs are automatically released for him. He can place his full attention on detecting any hostiles (aircraft, missiles, AA guns). And the best part of this all is that this system can be used in high altitude bombing runs, well over the 5000m altitude which MANPADs cannot reach. Finally, clouds, smoke, weather conditions or time of the day play no role in this whatsoever.
Last, but not least, this is a very *cheap* solution. Russian can now use the huge stores of ‘dumb’ bombs they have accumulated during the Cold War, they can bring an infinite supply of such bombs to Syria and every one of them will strike with phenomenal accuracy. And since the SVP-24 is mounted on the aircraft and not the bomb, it can be reused as often as needed.
