In all honesty I don't think Lala was trying to be mean...she just meant loosen up and be crazy together to have fun. For now drop the I need her attitude also...if she smells desperation your chances decrease and that's what causes desperation. You're going out for coffee or whatever...don't rush her and stay funny without overdoing it since no one wants anyone too pushy or obnoxious. Plus pay for the meal...yet no flowers or candy at this point as you already seem to have too much anxiety and you're not even out the door yet. -

I'm so scared of getting rejected, and always have been, that I don't ask girls out.
I hypothesise sometimes that my fear of rejection is due to being rejected by my Dad and being raised in a single parent household.

What happens to you happens to everyone and more than you think. I remember once I stopped my bike for a lady to cross and started chatting. I forget to give her my number and luckily saw her by accident 2 weeks later. I just joked about it and we're still friends.
If the girl likes you and wants a relationship great if you feel the same. But remember...not everyone is meant to be together. Don't see it as rejection if it happens...see it as a positive road to find what you really want and be genuine. It has absolutely nothing to do with your past or father...it has to do with you gaining confidence and losing your insecuity. Like 5 gang bangers approaching you late at night...you don't have many choices. You either talk your way out of the situation or run. You learn to fight ahead of time preparing yourself and knowing where to visit or not visit. Or you stay inside your home and never leave. Fear is your worse enemy and defeats you before you even start. So stay calm, don't get tense and be real. If it works it works...if not it will next time and maybe even better.
