I wouldn't think its 'fun', but more so a thrill. A massive thrill that releases dopamine and gives a fulfilling feeling deep down inside.
Some killers say that they feel the world lifted off of their shoulders when they first killed. It's likely one massive stress reliever. That's likely what makes it addictive for some people. -

You can pay for the schooling or work for a company that provides it but they'll have some contract where you have to stick around for a certain amount of time or else you pay. -
