Also, if a lot of water got in there, the plywood is probably soggy and all rotted out and will leak again, even with the patches, so it's best to have the roof ripped, change out entire sheets of soggy plywood while the roof is open, and then apply the underlay and tiles only after that's done. Roofers won't bother doing any of that.

I really like our roofer. His company is family owned and a local company. He really impressed me with his ethics.
Anywhoo, WE ARE getting a whole new deck before the shingles, along with gutters and downspouts. That’s why it’s costing me 2 arms and 2 legs. A huge tree fell down in my front yard ruining the front gutters. This has been an eventful week in my household. The shingles are made by Owens Corning, they seem like good quality. Comes with a 30 yr transferable warranty. -
