instead of the police coming in through the walls instead my neighbor will get too drunk and fight his gf and the cops show up right when I'm walking out of the apartment high as fuck and they stare at me and then park randomly out back and real life events happen that normally shouldn't bother you, it's whatever cops show up all the time in my hood, weird things happen. The more I thought about the origin of life, the more I became convinced that the first living thing must have been very complex. Also, even the simplest living cell needs molecular machines for building all the parts of a new cell, as well as the means to harness and direct energy. How could such complex mechanisms assemble randomly from nonliving matter? As a mathematician, I could not accept that assumption. It asks far too much of random processes. -
