Not really much of a prophecy to be honest...it's blatantly obvious these things will come along based simply on the historical record and examples of it across multitudes of species (plant and animal).
This one is relatively mild, we need a proper good plague, one that kills you in 24hrs regardless of your age/health status to be apocalyptic, killing off the boomers doesn't really qualify as that...sounds like a gov plan to save $$$ on SSI.

Have to say though I do yearn for a simpler life...living off the land, working hard outside all day to come home to a roaring fire and the woman cooking one of the slaughtered pigs. (she's still need to shave her legs and hoohahh though).

Well many of those 2000 would be your relatives more than likely, aunts, uncles, cousins, 2nd cousins etc etc...so the actual "fucking" pool might be as low as 1500..then from those many will be elderly or children...so then you are down to 500, then of those 500 many will already be in committed relationships so you are down to 3.

My recommendation for a "curry" would be either Chicken Korma or Chicken Nihari, both available through SHAN.
All the boxes are, are a way to reduce the anal pain associated with subcontinental cooking by premixing the spices. So rather than buying and measuring 18 different spices, you can just use the packet. The important work is in making everything else and executing the recipe.
Later you can start riffing by adding more spices etc to taste.
Oh and tbh no matter what else, try Chicken Biryani.
