   Yah it's a SIM for a GSM network, i think my version of the modem is for GSM carriers only (US bands and certain other regions ). They have other versions for CDMA and other stuff for frequencies outside the US market.

   Yeah I know 5G is coming down the pipe, hopefully that will be accompanied by a major easing-up on the throttling ( or as they creatively call it, "deprioritizing" ) they are all doing at some level. Not very optimistic on that. Curious what will come of T-Mobile/Sprint merger, probably doom and gloom - less competition.

   In RAID5 that would give you 4TB storage, nominal? Seems kinda $$ for the amount of storage. If a drive fails and you re-build, you would want to do it with like drives right? Is there any issue with rebuilding the entire array with all-new drives of a different type ( larger capacity ) at that time?
   
   Curious, I would like to build a media server at some point - are multiples of 3 drives the most efficient arrangement for usable capacity in RAID5? I don't know if I'll ever pull the trigger, I want to start buying movies on disc and ripping them but not sure I want to put money into it when a new better resolution/format is probably going to come out and make my collection the equivalent of a pile of VHS tapes.

   Starting to get pretty good. Kind of randomly chose a Speedtest server several hundred miles away, I get pings in the 40-50s mS range if I test more locally. All testing done through 802.11N wifi connection at "Excellent" signal strength. Kind of interesting how much better the download rates are with better antenna setup, considering those signal strengths are still quite poor. Upload is still so-so, I might get some amplifiers to experiment with but I don't know if they will play nice in a MIMO arrangement. Gonna play with speedtests parked outdoors, and study up on optimal antenna spacing to try and eek some more performance out.
   
   Got an adapter coming in soon to play around with using two modems in conjunction.
