The vote was not an impeachment vote. It was a vote to "formalize" the seance the Schiff is holding in the bowels of the capital building which is officially called an impeachment inquiry.
Since you have made it obvious that you are ignorant on the subject of impeachment let me give you a quick and dirty breakdown.
An impeachment inquiry is like detectives investigating to see if there is enough evidence of a crime to take to prosecution for the purpose of charging a crime.
An actual impeachment is like a grand jury where the prosecution presents the findings of the inquiry to the House of Representatives and a vote is taken. If the the vote is to impeach that is like the grand jury handing down an indictment and theatter goes to the Senate for "trial". If the vote is to not impeach that is like the grand jury returning a no bill.
If the House sends the issue to the Senate in a yes vote for impeachment both sides call witnesses, cross examine, present evidence ect much like any other criminal hearing. The senate then must vote. Unless the vote by the Senate is 67 for removal and 33 against the "defendant" is "not guilty" and the is the end of it.
Bottom line Trump will not be removed from office. -
