There's a word for it. It's called 'catfood.' You want to be fancy? 'Good catfood.'

They do fortify catfood, so its better for the cat than if you were actually feeding her corn or grain, which is why I brought it up.

I'm just looking out for your cat, man.

Why the fuck are you giving your cat fruit and veggies? They don't need fruit and veggies. They aren't omnivores, and they aren't designed to even enjoy fruits and veggies. Cats don't even have the taste buds for sweet foods.

If you want to spoil her, she'll be plenty happy with the meat.

It might have, I'm not sure. It's a good choice though. It was the first anime I ever watched and thought "Wow this shit can actually be good?"

Love it, but I still fail to see where you're delusional and not just unwholesomely anti-social.

Originally posted by RestStop hmm, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Archer, Supernatural…those are probably my top 4.

Well, if you want a calm supernatural centered show, Mushishi is a good one. Think it like nature documentary meets ghosts. The ghosts aren't bad like in Supernatural though, they're just sort of... living. Just doing their own thing, surviving in what ways they know how. The protagonist more or less tries to help people find harmony with them. I watch this show when I'm stressed. Highly recommend it.

If you want a sort of antagonist's perspective like you get with Breaking Bad and the whole criminal mind games thing, try Death Note. Pretty highly acclaimed. It's about a guy who finds a notebook. When you write a name in this notebook, someone dies. He decides to use it to become, in his mind, a vigilante. There are all sorts of rules and stuff. Gets pretty edge of your seat too. Also highly recommend it.

Nothing really like Archer or the Sopranos which isn't also super anime-y. There's Gintima for a humor show but I honestly cannot fucking stand that shit. Maybe you'd like it. Lots of non-anime fans do.

Other than that, Miyazaki is always a safe bet. He's like the Japanese Disney. I recommend My Neighbor Totoro or Ponyo if you want something tamer and Howl's Moving castle or Spirited Away if you're looking for whimsical adventure.

Do not, under any circumstances, watch Grave of the Fireflies.

    You are correct.

I think it also effects your ability to metabolize nutrients but I'm not 100% on that.

I'm reading "The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran" right now. It's pretty good. Just finished Bill Bryson's "A Short History of Everything" and that was also good. Planning on re-reading the Neanderthal Parallax series next. what are you guys reading?

It took me like 3 weeks lol. It's only 40k long. Zero editing.

Right now I've got some other published stuff that I'm making idle income on. It's pretty nice. Just got the one book promoted on a site which has a few thousand visitors a day too and I'm already seeing a sales increase from it. Need to do some more typesetting work though, I've been putting it off. It's minor but eh, I'm rambling.

like four months now I think? I've never tried learning another natural language before, it's pretty tough going, I can work through children's manga with a dictionary for the most part but the spoken form is a lot harder for me. I don't really have any other non-native language to compare it to so I can't really make comment on the objective qualities of it.

I thought hepburn was romanji? Pretty good that you jump into Hiragana though. I'm learning Hanzi alongside pinyin but its really hard to get it to stick. It's crazy disorganized. For instance, tā means him and tā means her. No, that's not a typo. He is 他 and She is 她. (Good thing though is that there's the woman radical to help keep track here) Also hilariously enough, tā can also mean 'it' - 它. So HTS if you're reading this, you're covered!

It also with the same tone can mean: collapse, thallium, sew, inner shirt, soaked in sweat, and see. So you could say "She sees thallium soaked (in sweat) inner shirt collapse" and it would be "tā tā tā tā tā tā." This would also be grammatically correct, because again, Chinese has INCREDIBLY easy grammar. I mean I might have the order wrong (and there also might be a it/be/is (shi)or two in there) but there is no conjugation or tenses to consider.

Anywho, what do you plan to do with your Japanese, Lanny? Why did you pick it over other languages?
