Is Romanji any better with the sounds? The q and s in pinyin really throw me off sometimes. I don't know why they didn't just do like 'tz' for c and 'dz' for q. It's basically what it sounds like. Plus there's that fucking R. I don't know if its the same in Japanese, but its like a halted rolling of the tongue behind closed teeth. I always end up rolling my R out of habit from Spanish.

How long have you been studying Japanese Lanny? How do you feel about it so far?

According to the Chinese people in my class, yes. Its a recent thing though. My teacher said that when she immigrated here some 20 years ago almost nobody knew English in China, but now all the young people know at least some English. A lot of the slang is based off English too. One of the Chinese kids said that they teach English even in third tier cities. China is really good at changing very fast when it comes to things like that.

Yeah, I figure that since I already know Spanish and English, learning Chinese would allow me to speak with 25% of the world in their native language. Literally the three most popular languages in the world.

Chinese is actually butt-fuckingly easy if you ignore written. No past tense or conjugation bullshit and the grammar is super easy. Really, about as bad as you're gonna fuck up is saying the name out of order or adding a 'shi' where you're not supposed to. The hard part is of course the written and in learning the sounds. There's six 'ch/sh' type sounds: S, x, z, c, q and j. Don't know who decided pinyin should be this way but I can only assume that he hated latin language speakers.

Everybody said I should've taken Japanese, but then I'd be in a class full of weeaboos who only want to learn it because of anime and not because they actually want to learn a language. Most of my class are backpacker types, people with a Chinese SO, or Chinese students looking for an easy grade. Plus there are only about twelve people in it total, so there's a lot of one on one teaching, especially considering the two native Chinese speakers in the class.

Old people are fun because they tell you everything about their life. About who their kids grew up to be, about what jobs they used to work. So much history to be heard in talking to the elderly.

    Lanny is learning Japanese?

Lanny, I'm learning Chinese. Let's do some shitty language exchange and confuse the ever-living-fuck out of each other. Women xue hi waiyu gong. Wo shi jian qi cheng gaoxing yao women wei :)

I can't remember wtf I'm doing when I stand up to go do something. Can't remember anything. It's like I go all Alzheimer's for two or three weeks each cycle…. the rest of my cycle is normal. This happens before I get my period, so PMS for two to three weeks each cycle… my SPD issues are also super mega fukt during this time.

Anyway yeah I can't find anything I can do to change it. And no psych or neuro wants to take me in to treat me because my cases are so complicated and rare they don't feel qualified to treat me. Yeah fml.

Ignoring the ADHD and "I go all Alzheimer's" comments-

Have you ever been on chemical birth control of any kind? They can help cut out your menstrual cycle, which might help your problems but also possibly make you crazy in other ways. It's definitely worth a shot if you haven't.

As far as I'm aware, drugs like cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine are controlled (though its not very enforced among the upper class) but drugs like opium and weed aren't. They also, as a nation, produce/grow drugs (among other illicit things) to distribute abroad. Apparently there are quite a bit of NK defectors who claim to have worked on poppy fields. They actually have a word for land set aside for poppy fields. "Pomyong."

Really cool paper below. Just ctrl+F "drug trafficking." There's probably some other cool stuff but unfortunately, it's really hard to get an actual copy of the North Korean penal code, so we can't really know 100% what their internal laws are.

    :(

Have you tried taking any DRUGS for it? You should discuss it with your doctor if you haven't already. I'm assuming you have since you discovered your issues were due to hormones?

You could try losing weight if you don't want to take any drugs. Fat produces estrogen. If you're not fat though and still want to take drugs, there are foods like soybeans which contain phytoestrogens and other estrogen-like drugs which will sort of replace your endogenous estrogen with its weaker version, but I don't know how well that actually works. Don't listen to what you read about it increasing estrogen levels because not all estrogenic drugs are the same. I know fruits and some other seeds/nuts/beans effect estrogen levels too but I only know about soy.

Definitely look into your diet if you aren't keen on taking drugs to fix this. Its (probably) not going to have a grand effect but if you're not eating right you'd be surprised what starting to can do for your mental wellbeing.
