2019-07-21 at 10:23 PM UTC in Say you work at Wal-Mart and you see a shoplifter about to walk out...cops will always be quick to claim that they do what they do to 'protect people', when all they are really interested in is being 'the protector'. that's different, what really interests them is the prestige and value that comes with being the protector, the hero factor. if its no trouble to actually help somebody then they will, certainly if in helping somebody that will help further their hero status. their real agenda often shines through tho and makes it batently obvious what they are really all about.
