then you shouldn't have any trouble finding them on the state department's terrorist organisations list.

again - it does not matter if people consider them terrorists, only whether the group is legally proscribed as such. whether or not they actually are is only relevant insofar as it would give police justification to act, which they did not.
and again - if it were, he would've been arrested, not had his guns confiscated under the new 'red flag laws'.
and again - whether or not you think they match the definition of a terrorist group is completely irrelevant.

my initial question was why you thought his disarmament was justified considering he was not charged with any crime.

you went on to say he was guilty by association; that he deserved to have his weapons confiscated because he belonged to a group whose members had committed crimes. now you've invoked Putin like the insane news media you've been greedily consuming (Hitler at least ties into the group's ideology) and you have the gall to call me biased? if you were actually paying attention you'd see that I don't support the group in any way; I know a good deal about them and they're intentionally marketed as 'extreme white racists' to attract and control stupid, disaffected white kids.

this is about overextending state power, not big bad nazi/o9a larpers in goofy skull balaclavas.

you could at least be honest and say 'I want to be able to tell the police to disarm people I don't like' instead of continually banging on about what you think is and isn't a terrorist organisation.

if a crime was committed, you don't wait 20 years to report it and use the media to attack the 'perpetrator'.

if you have evidence, there's a well-established process to address your grievances. if you don't, you absolutely shouldn't expect people to take your claims at face value just because they have emotional weight.

Desperation at being outclassed in strategic missile systems? Attempting to add fuel to another arms race? Simple MIC cash cows? I'm not sure, I'll have to look into it more deeply.

There are a few reasons I'm very skeptical about any of these being feasible, will post more later

    1. It doesn't matter if people consider it a terrorist organisation, it is not legally proscribed as such. As far as I know the State Department only keeps a list of 'Foreign Terror Organisations' and domestic groups are typically treated the same as organised crime. I said it would be different if they were legally designated a terror organisation because then their activities would be illegal by default and police would be justified to act against them.

    2. The overarching point is this guy wasn't doing anything illegal. He wasn't arrested or charged; his weapons were confiscated by the state simply because someone asked them to be.

I remember digging into that 'mass reduction' device because it (the patent) has been around for a while, but I didn't have enough physics knowledge to work out whether it even made sense. I get the feeling it was presented that way on purpose

I suspect they're just trying to bait Russia and China into pouring money into insane boondoggles

if these technologies were feasible, especially for military applications, they would not have filed patents publicly until after it was in the field

    They absolutely fit the definition.

You don’t have to believe me, that’s on you.

    you're missing the point entirely.

if we were to create a new or parallel system, why do you think it won't end up with the same problems as the current one?
  13. aldra JIDF Controlled Opposition
neither of those demonstrates that the group is legally considered a terrorist organisation and thus open to police action.

again: they only confiscated his guns due to the new 'red flag' laws. if they considered him an accessory to the aforementioned crimes or a member of a terrorist group they simply would've arrested him. or killed him in a 'botched raid' more likely

    you're missing the point

it's not prison conditions that are the problem they're trying to resolve, it's private companies lobbying in various ways to drive up incarceration rates (mandatory sentencing, aggressive policing techniques etc.) because their income is directly tied to the number of people sent to the prisons they own. The goal is to reduce the already-overloaded prison system.

You can still make money and shit…

Believe it or not, but you can be pro capitalism and pro socialism at the same time. They are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

some degree of 'socialism' is necessary. most people in the US have been conditioned to viscerally hate communism and socialism to justify the wars fought after WWII and to preserve US economic 'soft power', but it's been losing its effect since the end of the cold war and as a result younger generations tend to have less and less of a... socialist gag reflex

yeah, absurd 'red flag' laws that allow anyone to target a person for disarmament by saying they're a vague threat. if they were able to prove that he ordered or had anything to do with the mentioned crimes they would've arrested him rather than confiscated his weapons.

it'd be a different story if Atomwaffen was actually designated a terror group or something because then there'd be some legal basis for it, but they'll never do that because it's almost entirely a fed honeypot for idiots.
