   1. It doesn't matter if people consider it a terrorist organisation, it is not legally proscribed as such. As far as I know the State Department only keeps a list of 'Foreign Terror Organisations' and domestic groups are typically treated the same as organised crime. I said it would be different if they were legally designated a terror organisation because then their activities would be illegal by default and police would be justified to act against them.
   
   2. The overarching point is this guy wasn't doing anything illegal. He wasn't arrested or charged; his weapons were confiscated by the state simply because someone asked them to be.

   I think Technologist has had way too much fluoride to understand that designating something a "terrorist organization" or designating someone a "terrorist" has lost any meaning it once had. Bush famously said "If you're not with us, then you're with the terrorists"
   
   So anyone can be labelled. The word never had much meaning to begin with, but nowadays it has less and less as years go on.

   Let's just ask the FBI. You ever talk to them? They're usually pretty straightforward. Google your local special agents, they usually have time to answer a few questions. Their tip line is shit and always busy, but you can ask your local special agents about it.
