Are you on FF Quantum? They fucked something up a bit ago. It basically caused everyone's extensions to malfunction. I wasn't affected even though i have auto-updates on. But then again i mess with all my apps, especially browser to shore up the security. Maybe i wasn't affected due to some value i changed in about:config, i really haven't looked into it.
Also, a friend of mine has FF as well, but he is on Win10, basically on Windows it outright refused to install certain extensions. I would hazard to guess Microsoft is up to no good, as usual. But Windows is pretty shitty in general so who knows.

Haha, there's plenty of things I've done in this community that would be embarrassing for friends and family to find out about but if the mere fact that I associate with a pedophile is enough to reduce a person's image of me then I want nothing to do with them. I've never (and I don't) condone sex with minors and I am not a pedophile but I acknowledge pedophilia is as valid a sexual orientation as any other even if acting on that impulse is always or almost always unethical.
