Originally posted by Meikai For what it's worth, I actually am more inclined to trust you than anyone else I know who could credibly make me a similar offer. And I figured you weren't offering to write me something malicious in hopes that I'd accept the offer and use it against myself.
I might honestly be the evil one here, like… if I were you, I'd include a little something. You know? A lil something to make it easy to mess with them. Just in case. What if I ever became big mad with the person in the future? No harm preparing for the possibility. "I'll probably never use it", I'd tell myself. "It's benign, harmless, accessible only to me - it's a stretch to even call including it malicious!" And if I do decide to use it, they'll deserve it! So including it is only harmful if they deserve it, in which case I should include it. That's how I'd see it and what I'd do in the case of people I like.
If I was even just ambivalent towards them, I probably wouldn't be able to help myself from actively messing with them a little in "harmless and fun" ways, just for being silly enough to run whatever I wrote. They'd deserve it. I will not speak of the depths I'd go to if I actually hated that person, because my ignorance makes it impossible to do justice to the level of harm I would seek to cause.
And like I said: the only kind of defense or security I'm capable of having an effect on is social engineering stuff. Even though you wouldn't need me to manually run a program, it's still not in my interests to accept such an offer. For the same reason it's not in a loving mother's interests to take a pill which will make her want to kill her toddler, or even just make her open to the idea of killing the toddler. My computer is my baby and while I might not be strong enough to protect it from every threat, it's exceedingly easy for me to protect it from myself by simply… not becoming willing to become a walking talking ACE exploit.
Having one foot in the door as it were just in case, means you're not acting in good faith when presenting someone with what amounts to a gift of time and effort. Speaking of time, having one foot in, would save me approximately a minute or two. And if you are going to open the door anyway, you might as well walk in and pop their box right then and there, set up persistence, and simply connect when you feel like it. I believe in reciprocity, i need a good reason to A) violate your trust B) Turn you into a Borg drone. Like i was alluding to, should i open the door i'm not gonna leave it open and walk away snickering to myself, no, i'm coming in. Half measures are no measures.
Also if i were to operate on a "just in case" mode of behavior, what's stopping me from turning everything i touch into another drone. -

2022-11-03 at 1:57 AM UTC in Password managers16 digit upper/lower case plus special character, preferably scrambled as in randomized is pretty good password policy. If i ran systems in an enterprise setting i would force workstation level users to use a similar policy just to get permission jailed user session going. Gotta log into anything else? 2 factor auth with a time based/HMAC one time key, every time.
An inescapable problem with saving passwords even in encrypted form is that when your master password gets popped you're basically fucked.
Password managers automate password generation, and will remember the passwords for you and even store them securely. But you'll probably have a master password you ought to make hard to crack and that one you need to store in your brain. -

There is a law of nature called Conservation of Information. Essentially all particles and energy that makes up everything including us can't stop existing, so when you die all the bits that constituted you are still around, they're just more disorderly. -

Originally posted by Meikai Hmmmmmmmmm. I dunno. Maybe. I felt like I would be less careless with, say, a painting I made but… maybe not? I can't tell really, because I generally don't make anything else. Essentially my only 'creative' output is shitposts and memes. Could also just be that shitposts and memes are linked in my head, and saving all the dumbshit pics I make would in some sense be like saving a copy of every dumb shitpost I write. Blah. idk 🤷‍♀️
I have a corrupt a wish thingy for you. Well sort of, the parameters are; you get to request i write you a program, benign, malicious, or useless doesn't matter. So wish granted, but every time you start it you have to sit through 5 popups that last 30 seconds each, and you can't close because no cheating. And the popups will have a random shitpost you made pulled directly from NIS. -

but also, bradlee constantly saying he wants to bang me seems like this'd make it more about scron's honor than my own. insofar as the fight pertained to me at all, it could only be in weird as shit caveman ways.
Definitely some cavemen shit. Which is to say, a social process deeply rooted in our evolution, biology, and psychology. Since you're his waifu you need to recognize this most ancient of rituals. If scron is a man and not a pussy he will feel the need to protect you. Even if he gets hurt in the process. The point you're missing is that it is an act of love to sacrifice something of oneself for another, and due to the sacrifice he will have done his duty, and in it a noble deed.
Take this away from him, and you run the risk of damaging him far greater than any punch ever could.
And if he does not want to do it, for whatever reason, then he deserves nothing but scorn and mockery. For when the hour came, he was to busy with himself to fulfill his duty. Egocentric, self-absorbed, pathetic. -

Originally posted by Haxxor When a man dies, he dies in pieces.
First, his heart stops beating, and soon after, his brain shuts down. The part of the dead man that carries life, his sperm, does not die until more than a day later. Technically, that sperm can still be used to procreate. It's not unheard of for sperm to be retrieved from a dying—or even a deceased—individual through a process called posthumous sperm retrieval (PSR). The first documented PSR was reported in 1980, and the first baby conceived as a result of PSR was born in 1999.
The more you know. -
2022-11-01 at 6:28 PM UTC in Military Genius Zelensky wants Ukrainians to throw molotovs at Russian tanks
Originally posted by aldra the guy who supposedly hacked it isn't Russian military, he's a civilian in the Donbass and part of the KILLNET group
In my estimation KILLNET is not a very sophisticated threat group but they do seem to have somewhat of a following as far as i was able to ascertain. Their previous choice of targets and TTPs is geared to a lot of publicity bang for your buck. Yeah. It sucks when something that could be considered critical infrastructure is offline for a while but DDoS generally only damages the wallet of the organization affected by it.
Like i said choice of targets is where they get all the hype from. The most sophisticated they got was taking an off the shelf ransomware, and simply not configuring provisions for the key to be saved. And not having any backup data exfilled to any of their infrastructure. And letting it do it's thing effectively wiping data from target boxes.
I don't know a lot about this DELTA program, but if you can access all the info you need through an app on your phone, that's a problem. In which case the vector used doesn't need to be very sophisticated. Depending on how well the app does security itself.
The original post seemed to suggest that the author has trojanized DELTA clients/servers/nodes whatever. Pretty sure they have private repo somewhere, where they work on this program, updates, patches, etc. Perhaps the guy inserted himself into those processes got to be a trusted member, and wrote an extra special spicy patch when the time was right. Who knows? If it were the case though, claiming you're with KILLNET is a good idea. They get a notoriety boost, and their adversaries need to update what they know and can expect from KILLNET, plus, it would redirect suspicion.
Anyway that's all speculation, but what isn't is the fact that if Russian forces have all of this DELTA data, that gives them a huge advantage. -
