She was literally 14 when the war started so she didn't get a say. Also, realistically by the time Holland was under occupation the offensive to take France was well under way. Sudetenland had been annexed. Austria had joined greater Germany in the Anschluss. And Poland was under dual occupation. Once 'resettlement operations' began Europe was under near enough complete occupation by the Axis and USSR. And England was getting bombed on the daily. Where were they supposed to go?
