I don't handle death that well, but again, it's not pretending if you actually don't know their ultimate fate. Also, people who are actually depressed to the point of going through with suicide are not in their right mind, so going without saying bye, doesn't mean anything in the context of the relationship. It just means the person was terminally depressed. You can't talk people in that state of mind out of it either. Not that you shouldn't try, but it's like having a conversation with a wall. Because they are unwell. -

How would i know it's false hope? If one day someone i care about seems to disappear there is no way for me to know for certain that they are dead. And if the person in question went by the parameters i laid out in my earlier posts, they would never be found. So the hope is just hope. Because there can be hope as long as there is a chance, no matter how small. -

I get that, but not knowing allows room for hope and a bit of optimism. While death is final, and does not allow for any of those. So on balance if i had to pick i would pick the option that at least has some nice things in it. -

I phoned NuclearRabbit during the Zoklet days. His bitch was asleep next to him so he had to whisper and it was pretty awkward. I hate it when i kind of know someone but then have the first irl conversation ever over the phone. When i talk IRL body language is really important for me to know what someone is thinking and to make sure what i say is understood as what it was meant to say. -

Only real history Ukraine has were the Kievan Rus. So it must be appealing to have a legendary history, even if it's all fiction at least they can imagine a glorious past. Actually Ukraine had a rough start when it became the Ukranian SSR with the lolodomor and all that, but later during Soviet times they were doing relatively well, after the war. They lost a bunch of people but got over 100k square kilometers of land, Making Ukraine thicc.
Interestingly Ukraine was allowed to have their constitution amended, so while still being part of the Soviet Union they had a relatively good amount of autonomy. So while all the Soviet Socialist Republics had their own party the overall governing body of the USSR was the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. So the Politburo in Moscow basically.
I guess they had an alright run until Chernobyl happened. -
