If you were gonna do it more than once you would want to switch up MO's and locations like you could maybe do the one but you will start leaving a trail no matter how well and clean you plan it
It's also a more hands on approach, actual violence instead of poisoning someone and waiting for them to die, that's my guess why.
I'm not sure how they are near you but when I was homeless I always had a good size knife on me and pretty much every homeless person I knew did too so there would be a chance it might not work out in your favor. Best bet would be to catch them from behind while they're looking away from you.
Also if you are in a city, which I assume because that's where most homeless people are, there's always a chance that someone might be looking out a window at you so you would want to definitely make sure you did it in an area where nobody could possibly see you because motherfuckers are nosey. -

I realize some people can't do that though but it's the only way I've been doing it the past couple years. When I first started taking Crouton I'd mix it with tea and it really wasn't too bad, kinda complements each other with an earthy taste.

Seems like if it's caused by an illness maybe it will run it's course and things will work out alright, maybe take some of those occuvite vitamins that are supposed to be good for your eyes.
