I come across those a lot when I used to hike in the east bay area hills. I have a video of an 8 foot Alameda King Snake that looks a lot like a diamond back. but they slide forward and not side wind like a rattler does. I tried to pick it up from it´s tail. it hissed and wiggles its tail to mock a rattler but they have this really awesome grip on the ground. Also he weighed probably 45 pounds or more
