You can get a TEFL for dirt cheap if you just want the paper, so why not? It's not federally regulated here so the requirements for getting your TEFL are basically nil.
In China, and most of Asia, you're gonna need a Bachelors. You won't even get your Z visa if you don't have a bachelors or some promise of work. You definitely can't work as a teacher legally, and apparently they've been cracking down harder on this since the new legislation this year. Cambodia is definitely a good country for unregulated teaching. But they also have lots of unregulated guns.

First impression has more to do with looks than relation building. I'm not a liberal but i will tell you that people will judge you on how you make them feel. If you're a likable fellow and don't look like a complete greasy weirdo with a neckbeard AKA average looking but well kempt you will do fine. Of course an insecure beta would think things like "Oh people are just so shallow and mean! I am such a wonderful guy they just judge me because i am not a 11/10 Chad." Bullshit, if you feel like a loser you exude it in your body language, people will pick up on that real quick. Since people are bad judges of character they will assume that you are how you present yourself to them. Honestly, its kind of fucked up to be reveling in the death of another addict whose main "offense" against you was having feeling for the same girl you did- who was, in fact, a drug addicted prostitute who had relationships with MANY men.
