also this thread has been really educational for me throughout the war, I especially like the mean spirited/internet user base like DT and aldra's opinions throughout this.

most HEAT missiles work by having a fuze in the nose, when it hits armor it doesn't so much explode as it blasts a jet of plasma that cuts a hole into the steel. if you put a cage up, best case the missile tip catches between the slats and it doesn't go off, worst case the jet of plasma starts like a foot away from the armor so it doesn't penetrate so much

the 'cuck cages' on the top are to catch grenades that are dropped by drones from above so they explode further away from the armor

so I made a mistake with the epileptic response range; NORMALLY it's around 40hz that triggers a seizure but it's still relatively common for anything between 5-60hz to summon a spastic demon.

also, red light triggers a more intense response, as do patterns - that is, you get a more intense flashing a stroboscope through etched glass than you do if you just fire the stroboscope directly into someone's face.
