I haven't seen it in a long time though, I can't even remember the plot points but I do remember there's a gnostic interpretation of it, where the 'ninth gate' isn't a gate to hell, it's a gate to escape hell; the material world -

Originally posted by ner vegas as I understand it the only candidates who've received a significant amount of votes are the progressive at around 25% and the two conservatives at 20% and 10-15%, the remainder going to the other 30 or so still in the race. a candidate needs to get 50% of the vote to win in the first round, if not it goes to preferential votes.
how it works is that all candidates are in the first election, and if one candidate takes over 50% he immediately wins. if nobody gets more than 50% the most popular candidates go to a second runoff election.
the reformist (progressive) Pezeshkian won, which was unexpected. Iranian diaspora outside of the country can vote, so I expect that was a large source of his support -

Originally posted by the man who put it in my hood You clearly don't understand how NSA intelligence gathering works. They target everyone all the time
they've been collecting everything they possibly can since at least the 90s with CARNIVORE and other programs, later on moved to things like PRISM. the Utah facility alone was built 10 years ago to store data in the exabyte range and his been growing ever since.
initially the bottleneck was being able to retrieve that data without actually impacting network service, but between 2010 and now they've been able to widely install transparent packet enhancementing/logging routers at ISPs and backbone infrastructure around the world, which has led to virtually everything being logged.
once that issue was resolved, the issue became that there was simply so much data to organise that they couldn't afford the manpower to deal with it all, so they'd typically receive 'targets', people to investigate, through other channels, then assign agents and algorithms to assemble information on those targets.
now with the advent of AI learning and increasingly efficient algorithms, they're able to sort, collate and profile this information 24 hours a day with little to no human intervention. they're able to passively build profiles on everyone who's used electronic communications in the last 30 years or so with the only cost being the compute power required to run their software and host their data, simultaneously improving the ability to create profiles of people who've never showed up on federal radar and reducing the amount of personnel required to run the operation... leading to reduced oversight and less chance of whistleblowers and other malcontents exposing the operation to public scrutiny. -

Originally posted by Dirtbag The Germans never were a democratic people, they always wanted one strong leader. Humiliation from losing the first world war drove them to vote for him. As did unemployment and that Hitler promised to end paying reparations for the first World War.
nobody was ever a 'democratic people'; even the Greeks who conceptualised it had a very different idea of 'democracy' to what it is today.
yeah, true enough the Treaty of Versaille was specifically designed to keep Germany poor enough that it couldn't rebuild its industrial base, but the Weimar government was notoriously corrupt and forsook rebuilding the country in any meaningful way for 'social causes' in a way that mirrors what's happening now in the US.
there was escalating poverty and street violence alongside widespread graft and lavish funding for social engineering projects like Magnus Hirschfield's institute, which led to things like the roving gangs of 'Wild Boys' and other bandits as well as communist gangs that would later become known as things like Antifa.
the average German at the time elected Hitler because they wanted stability and a return to order, and they supported him dismantling the (overwhelmingly J'ewish) Weimar government because it was corrupt and nepotistic and did nothing for the people. -

Originally posted by Dirtbag I can't tell if you're trolling. The Weimar constitution was the most democratic one in Europe at the time. lol what
come back with even a surface-level understanding of the period between WWI and WWII -

that's more or less what I said.
they're constantly bombarded with both messaging that 'life in the west is so good, you should be like us!' as well as actual bombs, which encourages many of them to immigrate for purely material reasons.
but they're not the same as you and don't want the same things as you, so as your demographics change, so does your country. -

Originally posted by Dirtbag What was crazy about nazi Germany?
nothing, support for the nazis was a result of the massive depression after WWI, the insane corruption and depravity of the Weimar government and violent communist groups in the 20s and 30s.
the popular talking point though is that the nazis came to power and controlled the population and made them hate J'ews for no reason, which is a similar argument Narc is making here - Muslim countries don't want to be Muslim, it's just the governments and religious leadership controlling them. -
2024-07-06 at 5:27 AM UTC in How are you feeling at the moment..it's obvious even after several generations that they do not want the same things as you, and allowing demographics to shift so dramatically will end with you living in a country of their design.

I didn't say that you did, just that the destruction of their countries and the imposition of western 'values' are primary drivers behind mass immigration.
if you want to survive as a country you need to both protect the country's borders and interests as well as ending those drivers.
it's created too big of a disparity, where one side actively benefits from the cannibalisation of the other, so of course you're going to end up with hordes of retards trying to escape the sinking ship -

Originally posted by NARCassist Well we did a pretty good job with this great big land down under one time. Was very undeveloped just a couple of centuries or so ago. Looks pretty developed ok now mate
by sending your prisoners and underclass there to be the local population's problem, then using it as an outpost to open further exploitation into Asia and the pacific? not really relevant.
Originally posted by NARCassist As for assuming these people don't want to live more modern like people in the West, I think you'll find that's mostly control freak leaders both religious and political that forcibly impose old world values on those populations. Which is evident by so many of them moving to the west at every opportunity.
you're wrong. like I said, if western 'values' and aspirations weren't imposed on them through soft power, it wouldn't be such an issue, let alone the wholesale destruction of many of their countries through war and economic pressure.
you can't keep solely blaming leaders and government for populations wanting different things. do you think the Nazis made all of Germany crazy for 10 years, then they went back to normal? this would imply the individual doesn't have any agency.
Originally posted by NARCassist Some people talk about Muslims imposing Sharia law in Western countries and is very much used as scare tactics and propaganda. Fact is the vast majority of Muslims came to the West to escape that bullshit way of life. If you talk to the majority of Muslims in the West the last thing they want is more Sharia law that they traveled so far to get away from.
the majority of migrants from Muslim countries typically fall into two categories -
1. families of people who were made rich as a 'comprador class' by western powers, such as people who benefited from the US-imposed Shah in Iran before he was deposed, who resent Islam for their loss of prestige or
2. pure economic migrants.
whether or not they agree with Islam religiously or politically is irrelevant, because if they truly wanted to leave their culture behind your country wouldn't be so full of Mosques and non-English speakers. -

pepper spray doesn't reliably stop a person, let alone an angry dog, and would you really trust those idiots not to spray themselves after how they tried to use the baton? -

Originally posted by NARCassist No, we need to help the developing world to start actually getting developed, so they don't need/want to come. If I lived in a "developing" shithole country that I knew was never likely gonna develop in my lifetime, then I'd want to move to that awesome world I keep seeing in movies and television. I don't blame them, I blame the fucktatd politicians that facilitate it en masse.
'first world' countries need to do both.
thinking that everywhere would have the same quality of life if the same opportunities presupposes the existence of equality and assumes that everyone is the same, with the same drives and desires, with no credence given to differences in genetics, memetics or culture in far parts of the world.
on the other hand a large part of that quality of life comes from the exploitation of RETARD NATIONS, and combined with the 'soft imperialism' of imposing western ideals on the rest of the world through politics, media and warfare of course you're enticing foreign peoples to flood into your states seeking materialist and hedonist 'commodities' that are more difficult to procure back home.
pretending everyone is the same is like mixing all the playdough colours together until all you have is a uniform brown muck and you don't want to play with it anymore.
'democratic' governments should serve their people, not foreigners and not the select few in power who seek to bring them in in enormous numbers to keep their stranglehold on power.
