I argue that deterministic aspects of our universe and free will are not mutually exclusive. In a big picture sense we do not think of an inanimate object as having free will and the inanimate far surpasses the animate in time spent in existence. If we narrow our focus to the microcosm of the animate we find that freedom of will, or at least some notion that our actions are inherently our own plays integral roles in major religious philosophies across the globe. It is important to note that these philosophies generally cede that ones actions are theirs and the individual possesses its own will but in doing so they tend to espouse a code of restriction on what one ought to or should do in a moral sense. What I mean to get at is that free will is an illusion and is really no more than a quandary of existence that stimulates the mind. In the end of it all it does not matter if we have the truest form of free will or are in the truest sense vessels for a deterministic energy designed to enact various probabilities and statistical potentialities. What does matter is your own experience of whatever this little flash of existence lends you.

Western buddhism is not the buddhism of the monks and because of that I see it as an insincire interpretation. I could only call myself a buddhist or daoist or what have you if I felt I could authentically practice. I do not believe doing so is possible in the west or maybe even in this time period. Thats not to say that they should be disregarded but rather that nearly all practice of religion has been perverted in one way or another.

Its much better to have an absentee admin than an overactive one. But I also think that it would be acceptable if someone talked to lanny and worked out a time to add features and fix technical issues.

If you ask me, I most undoubtedly exist as a mind.
I do not disagree with the notion that you or I exist as a mind but I also believe that we exist as much more than minds. A person is more than the sum of its parts and a persons existence reaches far further than the chemical and physical realities that constrain that body alone. The human cannot refute physical existence so it has advanced to contemplating its existence. It contemplates ego and after contemplating the ego, the self and the nature of being it draws a conclusion that it is above, beyond, below, before or otherwise dimensionally segmented from the irrefutable physical reality. But I believe it is not that we are constrained to our mind as self. I say this for the same reason Descartes can, while currently having no mind, tell me,that famous phrase "I think therefore I am". Sure I cant talk to Rene but I can still experience him in some way. Seutonius does something similar with his biographical work on the 12 Caesers. Through his work we can have a multifold experience. On the one hand we can experience and know of the Caesars, on the other hand we experience Seutonius.
What we are lies beyond chemical and physical bounds. We as an entity can express ourselves in many ways and that expression can take many forms from a wave of sound existing for mere seconds to an action that dictates the flow of a course of events even beyond the physical bodies decomposition.

I think (as I said in this thread) that adding a wiki would be a cool idea and would add something to the site that that provides a quick gateway to the community rather than just some silly feature. We were lucky enough to get a thanks feature though so I doubt Lanny has plans to do much more than just host this place barebones.

I also think it would be pretty neato if the Articles tab was replaced with a niggasin.space wiki. There is a fuckton of free wiki software out there Dont get me wrong. I love this place. I just think it would be better if we had more to it than a forum. Id also be about adding an archives tab where you host the totse and zoklet archives that are availible. Someone on r/totse claims to have a pretty complete backup of Zoklet but the torrent didnt work for me so if someone can get in contact with him that might be a huge leap foward. We could also get an archive of the Hive forum and Rhodium website to host here.
Just trying to think of ways to make this place a little more interesting. -
