I had a ZTE that either didn't come with Facebook or let me delete it.

I think the phone I'm on now let me delete it.

I don't want a phone with Facebook on it. Did something change with a certain version of Android? Has the government threatened people since to make sure you can't delete Zuckerbergs spyware?

I read recently that the reason you don't see many Chinese phones sold by service providers is the US government threatens them with not giving them contracts lol. Ig that looks better than an outright ban and having Trudeau lock up the head of the company like Huawei. I have seen ZTE and TCL. Blu I think is another one but these are all budget phones.

I wonder how much of their "security concerns" is that they can't spy on them as well as Samsung or Apple. I think Pegasus was mostly a team effort with WhatsApp and Apple. Idk how much it affected Android but on Apple it was a no click thing. I have noticed researching phones that most Chinese phones use Mediatek chipsets and other Androids use Snapdragon. Idk if that would make a difference.

Then I wonder how much of it is American industry not being able to compete. The better phones like Huawei and Xiaomi are supposed to be competitors with I Phones for much less money.

I had an I phone and hated it. Wtf would you pay more for a phone that doesn't have a headphone jack or expandable memory? The fact that they get people to is impressive on their part. There was nothing special about it. People just kept saying I needed to get one. I sure as fuck didn't pay $5000 for one but I still felt cheated. Never mind they probably forward all your pictures to the FBI.

the AFU was using it to control drones because most of their hardline internet infrastructure got destroyed early on, I think Musk withdrew it (the cost for the amount of data they were using was high and the pentagon refused to reimburse it) because he 'didn't want to be involved with directly supporting the war effort'.

the uplinks themselves just communicate with the low-orbit satellites for remote internet connectivity, there's not really any more opportunity for spying than any other network hardware. I always wondered how they were able to use them without Russia being able to detect the uplink hubs and delete whoever was operating them

I know they have cameras and Elon Musk is a proxy for the United States to break treaties/international agreements about space but what does it do in Ukraine for instance? Communication they can't jam? I know they have cameras on them too. Are they spying on everybody too?

It's also for civilian use too right? What are the implications for spying as far as that?
