I would like do die while beside a stream with a doggy and a book, which is what I think of when I think of being comfortable in my teenage years.

Preferring being outdoors in the bright sunlight and constant flowing water of nature rather than in the stagnant comfort of the indoors is a form of spirituality in my view.

As well as the far vaster scale, and far cleaner waters, you have to consider the fact that life is constantly being generated and destroyed in a stream.

It is part of nature, and I think nature is something we are all comfortable with on some level.

I did actually, despite living in a city and generally being pretty disconnected from nature these days. From ages 4 to 13 I lived in very low-population low-development parts of the world, first rural US then a few different minor pacific islands, the latter being basically a third world country. Spent a lot of time outside.

I actually didn't really appreciate it all that much as a kid. Like I enjoyed having lots of room to play and exploring the area around my house and stuff but it was just normal to me, only in retrospect to I appreciate how cool it was. I could pick fruit from wild trees (mangos and coconuts mostly), enough to live on, and sleep on the beach, and enjoy absolute privacy in the middle of a ton of natural beauty whenever I wanted for as long as I wanted. I enjoy my lifestyle for the most part but now and then I get a real urge to go back to that part of my life.

    Great, we agree.

Does modern liberalism really work for us? Kinda rhetorical, given birthrates, costs of living, replacement rates, etc, even you will surely recognise it doesn't.

So why aren't we redefining our tradition within the contest of what is known?

One word, starts with a … ah fuck it you already know who I blame

I agree that the way our society is organized today is failing to meet the needs of the population. I don't think we can really call the current state of affairs "liberalism". I'll agree there are some ways in which our society has discarded elements of the traditional without sufficient replacements, in particular many of our unifying institutions like religion or cultural homogeneity are dead, at least here in the US, with no real substitute and that causes bad things (like the extremely polarized political sentiment that we've seen in this very thread). But in other arenas there's a toxic and dogmatic clinging to the traditional including most American nationalist sentiment (although this isn't as old of a tradition as people seem to think), neo-colonialism, and our views on the relationship between the capital holding and working classes. Basically our society is more complex than "liberals bad!" and if you want to chalk every social failure up to the jedis then go for it, but at least realize this secret jedi cabal you blame everything on can't possibly be exclusively liberal in its views.

Wrong. There isn't even anything resembling a consistent logical thread running through western conservatism, it's almost meaningless to talk about across any significant span of time as it is, by definition, resistance to cultural change in a broad range of cultures that have changed in just about every way a culture can change. Conservatism entails a defense of both monarchy and democracy, a strong and a weak state, caste systems and equal opportunity. There are no "conservative values" across time, just your laughably ignorant projection of your polarized politics onto history.

I like how your only response to people calling you out as a rapist piece of shit is mom jokes. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the court room when one of your victims finally reports you. "Douglas Monks, you stand accused of 5 counts of rape, how do you plead?" "I fucked ur mom ur honor, KROLOLOLO!".

By default your username is a function of your post count, this is the ladder:

    (15000, 'Black Hole'),
    (10000, 'Dark Matter'),
    (7500, 'Naturally Camouflaged'),
    (5000, 'Space Nigga'),
    (1000, 'African Astronaut'),
    (500, 'Tuskegee Airman'),
    (100, 'Houston'),
    (0, 'Yung Blood')

If you win a game of taboo your user title changes to "motherfucker", and "victim of incest" if you lose. Some people get custom user titles just because.

I think it's different than "I've taken a lot of dicks". Like you can take "a lot of dick" by just taking one particular dick very frequently, although multiple dicks works to. "I've taken a lot of dicks" seems to imply there are many distinct dicks which have been taken.

According to this thing they're "irregular plurals":

although I'd argue the "dick" in "taken a lot of dick" is also an uncountable noun.

People do this all the time. You've been posting here for a decade at least, god knows you view yourself as having enough spare time to devote to the truly meaningless facets of human life.

Alternative refutation: there are no "things which really matter", suck my dick.

"Employees having a say" sounds nice but I've become increasingly skeptical of it in practice. If the employees don't own a chunk of a company to go with their say what do they have? It's not real power in the sense of being able to vote or override the the decisions of the actual owners.

Even in the best case where everyone has the opportunity to put their ideas forward and you do so, you're donating your creative/intellectual efforts to your employer without compensation, or perhaps for an unsure possibility of advancement. In the worst case "having a say" is code for being responsible for the success of the business, and when success isn't happening that can mean there's an expectation for the non-owner employees to pick up the slack.
