2024-07-01 at 11:54 AM UTCI'm gonna make like G300,000 from selling Starfruit Wine this season. I don't even know what to do with all that money. My biggest problem these days is going to be getting my farm up and running on Spring 1, Year 3 (and every subsequent year, I suppose) - there simply isn't enough time to till, fertilize, water, and plant the seeds for ~500 tiles worth of crops in a single day. Apparently if I till it out and plant a bunch of winter crops and leave them to die as spring rolls around (kind of video gamey regenerative agriculture ig) the tiles will remain tilled on Spring 1 and my sprinklers will have already watered everything, and I'll only have to scythe down a bunch of dead plants before I start fertilizing and planting... but getting ~500 tiles worth of seeds I can plant in the winter is a big ask, even if the raccoon's wife is willing to sell me Powdermelon Seeds for 2 pinecones each. I decided to try growing the powdermelons out of season in my greenhouse on Fall 1 so I could use a seed maker on the harvest and hopefully wind up with ~500 seeds to plant by Winter 27, but I'm not hopeful.

2024-07-01 at 12 PM UTCIdeally I think I'd plant Fiber Seeds on Fall 28 and harvest them on Spring 1, but getting that many fiber seeds will be an ordeal. Even if I buy 500 mixed seeds from my man Krobus who lives in the sewers, I'd still need 500 clay and 2500 sap. I could plant a bunch of mahogany trees up by the railroad and tap them to help with the sap, but getting 500 clay every year by Fall 28 just isn't feasible. If it's even possible, it doesn't sound like it'd be anything approaching fun.

New Perk: Volume Trading
Double the item quantity from Shen's Auction, Shen's Special, and Rift Shen's on the year Diaz is elected. Two additional Shen’s Special auctions will be available for the duration of Diaz being elected as Mayor.
New Event Perk: Stock Exchange
Diaz is bringing more Stock of Stonks into circulation. Stock of Stonks can be obtained from the Stonks Auction and winning bids for items in the Dark Auction and Shen’s Auctions. Talk to Diaz while she’s elected with this perk to bid for Stock of Stonks and trade in your Stock of Stonks in for some cool new items!
New Perk: Long Term Investment
The elected minister will appear in the next election with all of their available perks.
Designer’s Note: The Bank Interest perk is the removed perk, 10x NPC buy limits as a perk still exists.

With this update, Shen's Auctions will be offered twice a year rather than just once.
Mayor Diaz's Volume Trading perk will do three things:
Double the number of Shen's Auctions yet again for that year (for a total of 4)
Double the number of items at all Shen's Auctions for that year
A new permanent item will be added to Shen's Special (if there are items available)
Designer's Note: Only Shen's Auctions that end during Diaz's term will have doubled items.

Back in early 2020 we introduced the Stock of Stonks, a test item that coincided with the release of the Bazaar. This item has never had any use, only speculative value, at least until today.
Mayor Diaz's Stock Exchange perk will introduce significantly more Stock of Stonks into the economy, but it will also allow you to trade them in for some new items:
Golden Fragment
Costs x3 Stock of Stonks
Use x8 Golden Fragments to upgrade one of the following:
Daedalus Axe
Midas' Sword
Midas Staff
Avaricious Chalice
Costs x50 Stock of Stonks
Use x1 Avaricious Chalice along with other items to upgrade the Emerald Ring to the Emerald Artifact
Use x4 Avaricious Chalice along with other items to upgrade the Crown of Greed into the Crown of Avarice

Located in the Stonks Exchange, Richard is how you will access the brand new Stonks Auction. These Auctions are global, with one happening each SkyBlock month (every ~10 hours). I didn't sell the wine. Or my corn, for that matter. I'm brewing more wine and pickling the corn over winter. My profits will be enormous. I made G500,000 without selling all that anyway. Damn it feels good to be wealthy land owner. -

I've got a kid at home and I feel so guilty sleeping on the island. I have to throw my baby in the air at least once a day or he'll start to hate me. Not to mention my livestock! I've gotta pet them on their heads or they'll start shitting out low quality milk and eggs. We can't have that now, can we?
Even if I get the farm on Ginger Island up and running, I'm not sure I'd ever sleep there or use it considering all of the above. Nevertheless. I will keep collecting Golden Walnuts when I find the time. It's just one more strain on the limited hours I have each day to do farmwork. *sigh* -
