Im debating whether to go back to bed. 3:30 AM seems a bit beyond the boundary of that whole "early to bed, early to rise" jazz. -
2019-05-07 at 10:54 AM UTCDo you just skip nights of sleeping? I could never do that, even if I was 30. I’d be a mess the next day.

No my sleeping schedule is just fucked. Usually I sleep exactly 7 hours... from 3am to 10am or so. But I also fall alseep for a couple hours regardless after i take my methadone. Today i went in super late bc i woke up with gnarly back pain, and then the methadone just put me to sleep. Its a fucking mess. -
2019-05-07 at 10:59 AM UTCAnd my moms been having weird night terrors lately, so around this time ive been hearing her screaming and i have to go in there and gently wake her up. Shes been having them on and off for years. I feel like its probably stress. She lost her job in October, and she still hasnt found another one. A lot of people dont want to hire a 66 year old woman for whatever reason. :(

2019-05-07 at 11:02 AM UTCI’ll bet money she is full of joy to have her son back.
I hope she finds something. It can be tough the older you get. There are jobs everywhere here. -

I would hire your mom as a scrote tickler if she would accept a position with no pay or benefits -

She does whine a lot. TBF theres a fair amount to whine about. But peanut butter being on the wrong shelf should not be one of those things. lol.
But the things is she doesnt whine to the right people. She bottles everything up. Dont make waves. Even if your boss is shitcanning the whole company on a weeks notice...dont tell him what you think of him. Stay classy. Dont do out and sledgehammer the neighbors fence into splinters when they try to move the property line and steal your property. You might get in trouble. Stay quiet. Keep your head down. Do what youre supposed to do and youll be fine.
I think ive challenged some of her notions more than shed have liked.
Im not as much resigned as I am practical. Ive reduced my whining by like 80% too, and i feel i should be applauded. -

Sounds like she's used to living in a different country than the current one. -

Bottling things up is a very human trait I do myself and then need a larger action to feel cleansed of it. I hope she's happy and looking forward to the future -
2019-05-07 at 12:44 PM UTCWelp, looks like I've just pissed off the last person I genuinely cared about to the point that they will no longer speak to me

No she just grey up in 50's and 60's suburban Texas- where if you stayed out of trouble, followed the laws, paid your taxes and got to work on time and did your best, you could expect a comfortable, relatively stress free life. She then went from Catholocism to Christian Science- the foundational belief of which is that any stress, disease, discomfort or turmoil...is simply the result of a misalignment of your thinking, and that if you zen that shit away, your problems will disappear.
Case in point...she was legit mad when i asked her to drive me to the vet with the cat (uber and lyft drivers from on taking sick animals in their cars) bc she thought i was making a big deal over nothing, and I "insisted" on finding problems where they were none. The cat of course, had laid there for a year...tired, itchy, covered in fleas, scabs all over it. Big lumps growing on her stomach. When i would try to show the lumps to my mom, she would get furious and say she didnt want to see them. But of course, after bringing the cat to the vet, they found out she was severely underweight, severely dehydrated with skin infections, and a likely tapeworm infestation in her gut. 3 weeks later after a round of antibiotics and an injection...shes healthy as a horse. If itd been left to my mom, the cat wouldve died on the kitchen floor while my mom sat in bed reading the bible and praying about it.
For as grateful as i am for everything shes done for me, i wish she had the backbone to confront things other than me. Everything and everyone else- she just puts her head down and hopes the worst passes her by. -
