I watched this story earlier about the smartest guy, potentially ever, with an IQ of 200. He's just a farm hand, living rurally, good humble man. He's worked a bunch of different hard working type jobs, never exploited his intelligence. But in his place he's got like thousands of theories and maths and he's doing so many good things to advance us. He's not spoken of or known really, but hes trying to do good. I really liked it. He didn't use a bunch of pretentious words or try to seem like some smarty pants.

Which reminded me of something someone said, not sure who, something to the effect of 'if you can't explain what you're saying to a 6 year old, you don't know what you're saying.'

Obviouslt that isn't holistically true but it's a thing Ive always believed too kinda. If you're smart, explain things in the simplest possible way. There's no reason not to.

You know you write at far beyond a high school level though. Maybe you can't help it. But if you want to get any point across, why not explain it simpler to people like me and the majority of people who don't know all the fancy words?

Sploo you're just as guilty at times when you're tying to make yourself seem smart, you try to sound smart.

You guys are interesting. Two smart people at different ends of the spectrum.

because he doesn't actually understand the big words it just becomes buzzwords in philosophy circlejerks where it catches on and they feel appropriately jerked "ontological" "epistemiology" "metaphysically" aka "real" "how to know" "in our minds" doesnt sound fancy enough for their facade of adequacy

like quoting articles out of medicine journals by using the same words for medical conditions they use? should i just make up my own slang for neuron anatomy like ill call an axon a zimmy and a dendrite a bundy

this is totally the same as using a bunch of big words over 700 pages to say "we never really know what we know mannnn"

I mean this is a good example. A little bait post at Lanny. I think he DOES know what they mean, and I think HE knows what he means. It's just that, like you and logic pussies, you can talk about it, show about it, knowing dull well people aren't gonna necessarily know what you mean, or be able to solve your puzzle.

I'm sure it's fun to talk fancy with fancy people, but most people aren't fancy. Please die?? :) 🙄🤔😭😉🤣🐑🤣🐑🤣

Do you have any particular examples? I know I don't have the most direct style and that I could improve in that way but I don't really think I use particularly fancy words outside of a relevant technical context.

Lol, see, that's why you're a joke sploo. If you think those words and phrases are equivalent then you don't understand what those words mean in the first place. Like you think "metaphysically" means "in our minds"? Really?

Your disdain for philosophy is probably the worst offense since you obviously don't even understand what it is, which makes your reasons for trying to dismiss it embarrassingly obvious: crippling insecurity.

Like I said it's not all around true like obviously there's things we can know thst we can't explain to a 6 year old. Citing medical sources or scientifically peer reviewed shits or whatever, that's fine. But when you're tying to make a point thst doesn't have to do with specific technicalities, you should be able to break it down to layman's terms. Only people with a 250 IQ really understand what I mean though.

having a concept expressed in the absolute simplest form possible via a nonverbal graph of <10 discrete objects

    vs

inflating this concept with 10,000 words to make someone understand it but getting lost in masturbation somewhere along the way so its worthless

im offended you would compare my ability to work with PURE LOGIC to his ability to fuck around outside of the radius of any sort of central point over a billion letters of keyboard spam
