Done that too..and been laughed at in the process.
My main bike was in pieces being rebuilt so I had this cheap little moped I'd bought off someone for 50 quid...it was tiny...don't remember the brand but it wasn't your standard moped...looked a bit like something they might have deployed behind enemy lines by parachute in WW2..but it had a 90cc engine so it was actually pretty speedy.
I went to work on it for a week and sped through Manchester rush hour. I was sitting at a stop light one day...and a car full of young lovelies pulled up next to me, rolled the window down and yelled "Give your little Brother his bike back!".
(I'm 6'4" and you probably couldn't see the bike under me it was that small).
It used to do a wheelie in first gear...whether you wanted it to or not...you just didn't use first gear because of it. When I first got it and hadn't figured that out yet I was passing the post office where there were a line of old folk lined up outside for their pension checks and I slipped it down into first gear as I was coming to a stop light and the thing just reared up like a roaring bear and wheely-ed past the old folk at 7mph.
I bet they were tutting and complaining to each other about "damn kids on motorbikes" -
