You can't fix old age. You can just make them as comfortable as possible in the last years of their life. If the dog is in pain, you give it Valium. No more pain. If it shits itself, you give it a warm bath. This is not rocket science. -
2020-01-12 at 4:23 PM UTCIf provided with sufficient care there is really no defined time that anything should die so long as even a single cell is capable of respiration.
However life is not all about taking care of the old for infinite lengths of time.
When we get too old we die and get replaced. That is how it works, don't blame me I didn't make the system. -

2020-01-12 at 4:25 PM UTCWe live in a disposable world, filled with disposable heroes.

2020-01-12 at 4:29 PM UTCSpectral, you're a damn fool if you think a dog would want to live drugged up, unable to walk or eat. It's not about your childlike emotions.

2020-01-12 at 4:30 PM UTCI’ve come to the conclusion that spectral wanted a dog as a child and never got one. Poor baby😢

2020-01-12 at 4:34 PM UTCMy own Mother has a living will not allowing the doctors or family to keep her alive on life support. Smart move. Everyone should have a living will so they can decide about their end of life care. I advise that to everyone.

If you only knew. It’s sad. If they don’t have a living will, the doctor uses every life saving method known. If the person has no oxygen to their brain for an extended period of time, the doctors will still bring them back, to live their life brain dead. Then the family can quite possibly go through years of bickering and court cases, just to get the plug pulled.
No thanks. Do not want to put my family through that. -

Even if he doesn't have anti-freeze poisoning, it never hurts to let him have some. -

You said you weren’t looking for sympathy so what does it matter if someone doesn’t meet those measures in their responses? Also, you argued for days about whether or not someone was dead without knowing if their family could see the forum or read any of the comments which could have been interpreted as insensitive. Does that mean you don’t have a son? No.
