Well it’s come time that I have to put my doggie down. Same dog I thought was gonna die when she lost major body weight, but she made it another year or so.
She has been the most well behaved dog I’ve ever owned🥺
I do not want sympathy or attention for this, I just want to know what it’s been like for others. What can I expect? I know we all react differently, but just want to know people's experiences with this.
Thank you!

All I know is that they use some very good drugs that only vets are allowed to have with a special license so it's a very peaceful malice tier death

Yeah, sound like they use pentobarbital. Says it shuts down the system in about 2 mins.

Dogs are gross. But i had to put a kitty cat down because she was very sick. Took her to the vet and she died in my gf's arms. A single manly tear left my eye. Then i rejoiced for she has joined all the pets that ever died in the Eternal Hunt in the Sky.
Amen.
Then i went home and got drunk.

I’ll be happy because her dementia is really bad now, as smart as she is, I bet it frustrates her when she runs into doors, walls etc.

I know it's selfish but i wouldn't be happy, i would be very unhappy.

Well, it’s sad to watch her lose her faculties. She’s the OG around here. I’m sure it’s gonna be tough.

Its terrible. One of the worst things i ever went through and thats why i wont get another one. I grew up with 2 dogs and they were 15 and 13, mother and daughter.
Just knowing that unless something terrible happens to me, that animal will be going down before me again is enough to say i dont want to go down that road again.
Good luck it does really suck though, just being honest

Yeah my neighbor had two dobermans he had to put down. It was too much on him, he won’t get another dog again. I have 2 other dogs that are 9 and 3.

I bet the dynamic around here will be different for my other two till they get used to her being gone. She was a Mom to my 3 yr old.

Well you still have 2 other dogs, that will help you forget and move on at least. Also if she is in any pain, she wont be suffering anymore. Trying to look at the positives...

OMG she is so cute.
Ginger is 14 1/2. It started showing around 12 in her as well, 13 is when she dropped about 1/3 of her body weight. She’s just been my skinny dog for over a year now. I feed her well though, but she hasn’t gained.
I gotta schedule this. Probably Monday or Tuesday. Giving her tons of love this weekend.

never done it but one of my family members did and told me about it. they had a bonfire and gave the dog a steak then had someone come by and they give it a drug to put it to sleep, then once its sleeping administer the second one to kill it. he said its very peaceful but solemn obviously.
it's a lot better than getting hit by a car though i can assure you that
