Originally posted by DietPiano Serotonergic drugs are heavily used in migraine treatment, but SSRIs make me feel crappy so those are out (besides tramadol, which is part of the reason why I think it works as well as it does), and triptans make me feel horrible and also don't work. LSD does not seem to help things, although I did realize I was in as much pain as I was for the first time on LSD and also decided to get off of xanax during that same trip, so I have quite the soft spot for the stuff, but as far as trying to help migraines I'd probably just want to try mushies as those are more proven i think.
I'm guessing that nothing at all will work besides powerful opioids, right? The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

This is what's gonna happen to everything, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.
Look out for PurDue Pharma's new "We'reSorryAndWeJustWantToMakeThisRightContin!"(TM) coming to a pharmacy near you. -

I want to try Amovig but she said that's a last line treatment for a reason I forgot but the pharmacist who has a wife with migraines begs to differ on that.
She's gonna throw more and more triptans at me and I already got tired of telling her they don't work, I guess I should do that again now to speed things up.
Also, I got propanolol today so maybe that will help. -

You mentioned she talked about medical marijuana. Does that offer any relief? Or CBD?
The mushrooms are much more researched/used for headaches than LSD so if you haven't tried them it's worth a shot. You don't have to trip on them, you can microdose and it can still help. I've read of people popping a shroom at the onset of a headache and getting relief from it. -
2019-08-12 at 11:26 PM UTCI'm guessing the triptans you're talking about are shit like Imitrex and Maxolt, right? Sometimes Topamax helps which IIRC is closer to an anticonvulsant than an actual headache pill like the others.
-
2019-08-12 at 11:47 PM UTCYeah, imitrex, naratriptan, almotriptan.. Topamax is like depakote and lamictal kind of, right? I take lamictal but I guess could try depakote or topa instead, but I like the fact that lamictal doesn't make me tired or dumb feeling and don't really want to mess around with that much.
CBD helps if I take $10-15 worth at a time, but at doses I can afford it doesn't seem to help. I haven't used cannabis in several years, and only maybe a baker's dozen times at that. I might try it once I move though. -

I actually thought about this saying for way too long a few months ago.
I think the idea is that if you're making a dozen breads you should use the material of 13 breads to make 12 really nice big breads. I think the saying was originally meant to be a figure of speech to say "generously proportioned" or similar.
Like if you go with a friend to a restaurant where you are a valued regular but the friend isn't. You both order the same salad, but the waitress gives you a little extra because you're a regular.
In my mind, she gave you "a baker's dozen".
Like a dozen vs a "dozen" (wink wink)
I could be totally wrong but this makes sense to me so I'll stick with it. -

The most commonly believed theory is that it had to do with laws in medieval times regulating weights on food items. Bakers had to make sure they weren't shorting people on product weight (they based it against the price of wheat) because they could be fined or get their ass beat so they just threw in an extra item when selling a dozen to make sure it met the weight. -
