2019-05-17 at 10:38 AM UTCKidneys are about 10in above you’re waistline. May vary in taller people. They lay in the posterior 1/3 of you mid back.

The pain I have is on each side just below where my back ribs end...like halfway between my spine and my side. Every morning it feels like someone gave me a good shot with a sledgehammer on each side, and then the feeling slowly goes away until it's usually entirely gone 4 or 5 hours after I wake up. -
2019-05-17 at 10:44 AM UTCWell, that’s about where your kidneys are :-(
Have you ever had kidney stones? Many of us pass them, and it’s normal, depends on the person’s pain tolerance. -

Nope. I feel like I would've known if I had those. Lol. My boss was in bed for 2 weeks with one the size of a dime.
I'm guessing all the heroin did some pretty serious damage to my kidneys. Ironically enough. The fact that I was smoking the heroin 75% of the time probably made it worse. IV would've required like 1/10th the amount for the same amount of high. So I was putting 10x and 20x the amount of opiate into my bloodstream to catch a nod. And now my high protein/sugar diet is probably not helping either. Would explain the weird back pain, edema in the legs, lethargy, etc. But I try not to worry about shit I can't do much about. No one is going to give a transplant to a junkie, I'm not going to take one from family, and If I can't make it to work on time, I certainly can't make regular dialysis appointments. Lol.
It's hilarious how jacked up I am.
Could just be regular back pain, bc I definitely have that too- but I don't think so. -
2019-05-17 at 10:54 AM UTCOh and my pee is constantly foamy, which apparently means that your kidneys aren't able to process out the proteins.
-
2019-05-17 at 10:57 AM UTCShit, I’ve passed many small kidney stones on my own. Big uns require then to blast em, or go retrieve them.
Casper,
I so wish you could afford a proper health check up, blood draws and all. You could find out about your kidney function that way. I draw blood to go to the lab. Come to Ohio! :-) -
