I mean, yeah, that's kind of the thing about it. Even if I DNA test, it pretty much means nothing because I have no real cultural ties to whatever my results are. It's basically completely irrelevant to my identity. Paying to know something that has zero relevance seems like something a retard would do.
There isn't really. At least not when it comes to your blood. It can be pretty relevant when it comes to how you were raised.
People pay money to satisfy their curiosities all the time. It also means something to some people. Those tests can tell you a lot about your predisposition to disease and stuff too, though I think typically they're sold as two different things

It really shouldn't. The kind of people it does mean something to are insufferable. You are your genes, not where they came from geographically. The only type of person who would care about that is a person in desperate need of a personality. Like a gay person who makes being a flaming faggot their entire identity because they have nothing else. Basically, DNA ancestry (ancestry in general, after a certain point) is that but for straight people with disposable income. UwU

Looking up the family tree is what cis-het white people when they want to feel like they're exotic and special. You heard it here first.~

Exactly this.
I legit don't understand why anyone would want to remain ignorant of something as fascinating as where they came from.
Like I said above, I put no stock in my "ethnic heritage," because I agree with HTS that some people put way too much importance onto their ethnic heritage to compensate for any
personal achievements (e.g.: pretty much the entire white nationalist movement), but it seems willfully ignorant to just ignore something as important as your ancestral origins simply because it costs a few bucks. It's like $100. That's the cost of a night of partying, or a couple video games (maybe? I have no idea what games cost these days since I rarely play any), etc.

HTS is just being edgy. It'd be interesting to find out where your ancestors lived, and even visit the house they lived in. We get yanks coming over from America all the time for that, but the records here aren't always the greatest.
And place matters, the jedis literally chose to invade a country and take it over in order to live in the same place their ancestors did.

Because to other people it's not that interesting...obviously everyone's ancestry is somewhat diverse if you go far enough back. Telling people "oh btw I'm 17% Nordic" doesn't really add anything to your value or use as a human. It's the "bragging" about it that's annoying...as if it's something unique, it's not.
