Also, I think I've heard of some Italians doing the same.

You can have an Irish great grandfather

You can have an Irish father

But unless both of your parents are ethnically Irish from Ireland, you are not Irish. Same goes for every other crayola color of blood out there.

That's why I try and say I'm Celtic or "I Identify with being a Celtic American"

    so shut your panface.

You're not Celtic unless you are overwhelmingly Celtic by blood.

You've definitely got some Celtic in you. Might be worth checking out a DNA test.

But probably not since you're poor :(

But in all seriousness, why would it be worth it? Not knowing has been a relief. Nothing cringier than the type of person who obsesses over their ancestry. Like "oh I'm 1/4 French on my mom's side so if you talk shit about France we're gonna have a problem"... those faggots pretty much turned the fact that I don't know into a blessing. I can avoid that entire shitty line of conversation. Why would I want to change that? :o

It's not so much the knowing what you are as it is the attempting to relate to a culture and ethnicity which isn't yours.

I don't get how there's a conversation to be had over ethnicity. When people ask me and I'm not being srs I tell them I'm polish or korean and I am always believed so long as I don't say I'm black. "White as a cucumber" is a good one to confuse people.

I mean, yeah, that's kind of the thing about it. Even if I DNA test, it pretty much means nothing because I have no real cultural ties to whatever my results are. It's basically completely irrelevant to my identity. Paying to know something that has zero relevance seems like something a retard would do.

There isn't really. At least not when it comes to your blood. It can be pretty relevant when it comes to how you were raised.
