Well... peeps don't get "dates" by sitting at home on their potato.

Purpose: I don't want to be home "alone" sitting on MY potato!

I figured out about 10 or so years ago talking to people was a waste of time. I really have no interest in their day or what they like to do on the weekends or the time they went skydiving etc.

I don't go where I may end up having a conversation with anyone if I don't feel like having a conversation. I enjoy using a lot of my time as far away from people as I can.

when I do feel like having a few words with folks I casually observe people for a while first. some people just like to sit in coffee shops or some places and read or just want to enjoy their time there by theirselves. the ones that do want to talk, some talk just a little, some talk a little more and some never shut up. I've found it's best to observe what's going on around you first and sometimes just say a few words to see what mind set they're in.

people are basically socially oriented so if you really don't feel like having a conversation finding some place where people will leave you alone is your best bet.

Not generally ... But I'm one of those lucky people that gets talked to by strangers in stores, walking to lunch downtown, riding the elevator, all the Fing time and it's almost always a crazy person. Why don't crazy people just stick to talking to other crazy people FFS.

But honestly, it does not really bother me terribly. At least they find me approachable. I don't mind being friendly for 3 seconds. Just not when I'm shopping. I don't want your opinion on the shoes I'm trying on and yes your ass looks flat as fuck in those jeans ... But I never say that .. but want to.

I truly don't get people who want to do this. I don't like most people. Sure they may be kind and sweet, and great in many other ways, but that doesn't mean I want to be their friend or anything, and if I don't want to be their friend, why would I want to get to know them? I think the special short moments are so much more valuable.

Also I don't like the whole 'getting to know you' talk, which is generally where these types of things end up. If I can have a topical conversation about something then it's great. Good way to suck up knowledge from other people. But most of the time this is not the case.

    thots?

Well in general.. no one does. Maybe a bus stop or some shit.

Once the train (BART) stopped.. and the lights and power went off. in a fucking tunnel.. with very dim lit emergency backup lights. the train remained stopped but the lights came on.. some people started to sing happy birthday to their elderly mother, and others joined in.. it turned into a onboard party of conversations. some things trigger this. but I think most people are preoccupied with thoughts of where they're going and what they will do when they get there. what's worse is mobile devices truly killing opportunities with others of conversing.

but if you're in say NYC or LA and walking a busy foot traffic area, people are just going about their "business" for a reason. Doing business to get paid or something done for the day. it was like this during the times of old and it's this way now.
