No, anyone who has spend like 10 minutes thinking about it realizes the problem of induction is intractable, we all realize that proof to certainty exists for basically nothing useful. What is useful is categorizing kinds of evidence and acting on propositions as if they were true when they have sufficiently strong evidence behind them. If you're willing to act on propositions you don't know to be true what exactly do you think is "radical" about your skepticism.

The climate constantly changes. It probably always did even without humans but saying we don't have any (significant) impact on it is like saying humans don't cause the extinction of species because shit has always been dying out.
I mean, we didn't kill the dinosaurs. -
2018-09-08 at 10:32 AM UTCRegardless of how much of an impact we have on climate, ozone and whatever else, we HAVE other options and other avenues of inquiry to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact, the status quo is just insanely profitable for some and the rest of us don't have enough motivation to make the changes necessary to move away from it

2018-09-08 at 10:35 AM UTCI think some people don't want to admit climate change is real, not because they're afraid, but because climate change is associated with all sorts of anti-white narratives.
Anti-white autocorrects to anti-semite on Google keyboard. -

Of course this isn't all that important because Occam's razor favors an accurate physical reality which is modeled by experimental results over a grand scientific conspiracy to fake the existence of human caused climate change. Like really, what in the fuck do you think counts as positive evidence against the human-caused climate change hypothesis if you think the funding practices of academic research void that same research? What research do you think happens which is not subject to rejection on the same grounds?
Check out what professor Bob carter has to say
Watch the other 3 parts then tell me he doesn't make a lot of sense.

In 2012, documents acquired from The Heartland Institute think tank revealed that Carter was paid a monthly fee of US$1,667 "as part of a program to pay 'high-profile individuals who regularly and publicly counter the alarmist [anthropogenic global warming] message'."[37]

i know for a fact that the head researcher (professor) is directly and literally a recipient of at least some of the cash (key word...cash) used in research grants. right into the pockets of the researchers
depending on the professor some of that money will trickle down to the junior researchers and 'volunteers' as fringe benefits, salaries, 'gifts', etc etc.
one of the most flagrant wastes i know of was an ocean biology 'research' grant to study some coral-shit and the money was wasted on buying scuba gear and trips to go scuba diving. they took some notes to justify the expenditure of cash. another was for 'lion fish' and all they did was swim around looking for lion fish. wts... -

Cruising around on a ship with canons in some kind of techno-pirate fantasy is wholly justified, though, right?
I'd rather have my money spent on Lion Fish research than on some faggots on a boat trying to blow shit up. -

you delusional fucking retard handsome and well tanned individual bosnian...lay off the pharmaceuticals and nigger-semen addiction and maybe youll re-grow some semblance of sanity.
probably not. -
2018-09-08 at 1:10 PM UTCWhere did you get lion fish research from you fucking techno-pirate? This thread is about... we are kinda off-topic anyway so yea.
I compared your outrage over dumb stuff to other dumb stuff you're probably an advocate of. -

Well would you travel all round the world giving seminars like he does for nothing?
Listen to the points he makes, they make perfect sense. For example the bit where he shows the climate recording monitors and how they are positioned in the wrong place over tarmac and right outside air conditioning ducts.

He denied getting paid, though. I'm not in the mood to watch a lecture right now so I can't comment on it but the point you brought up is laughable.
Like, c'mon, bro. Air conditioning ducts? Come one. You're better than that. Some flat earther stuff makes sense on the surface, too. A lot of stuff does that's actually wrong. -

Some university that was used by the IPCC to take tempreture readings had the equipment for measuring temperature positioned right in front of the air conditioning outlet ducts. Any idiot could figure that would affect the readings that were being taken. The guidelines for setting up that equipment are pretty clear and shouldn't be positioned anywhere near a building, nor over tarmac. I'm pretty sure the university and IPCC knew this and they were put there deliberately to give readings that were higher than they should have been.

Can you cite a source on that that isn't an anecdote? Every institution I've encountered had pretty strict controls on spending grant money, and for obvious reasons.
