Listening to sad LoFi with sad anime dub dialog samples and sad anime clips and animations makes me sad. But i still listen to it anyway, even though it makes me sad. How about that?

In a strange way, there is something comfy about being sad. Anyone ever feel like that?

I feel like I can think clearer when I'm sad, just as long as it doesn't come from anxiety

That's pretty interesting i have been thinking about this though and...

Actually, and this is going to sound pretty dark but, feeling sad and accepting that you are sad, and just giving up on trying to be happy feels comfortable because it releases you from anxiety to do with getting better or feeling better.

When you give up you can drop the expectations you had of/for yourself.

Not that i am depressed. Most of the time at least. LoFi for some reason. reminds me of this state of mind. So when i listen to it, i feel sad, but comfy at the same time.

The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

I read something interesting a while ago, that the concept of 'happiness' has a large cultural component. Most people in first-world countries nowadays tend to derive the most 'happiness' from hedonistic pursuits, whereas in countries where life is harder happiness comes more from a sense of purpose, simple acts like providing for your family or finishing a difficult job. In some places (I think it was Finland a few decades back they used as an example), happiness itself was not pleasurable unless there was a sense of earning it; feeling happy without working hard carried a sense of shame that dulled it

I think i agree with the Fins. Sure winning the lottery would be dope and i'd be driving a Mazzarati but it wouldn't make me happy per se, but doing work that i feel is worthwile and getting appropriate praise or payment or both for it would definitely make me happy i feel like.

Same here. There is nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment.

Probably only works that way for people who have experienced a lot of sadness and are comfortable in it, but I’m not certain.

Or maybe it just feels good to express/release different emotions not matter what they are.
