hold shift while hitting the quote button.

1: Lanny, you do not understand urban violence. You may think you do. You may believe that your area of living is "one of the worst", but if that was actually true, as a white man, you wouldn't be living there. You'd move your ass out ASAP. You have no idea what "urban violence" means, other than what you see on the news or what you heard about on the street corner that happened three blocks over while you were asleep. Have you ever lived in an area where gunshots woke you up at night? Where a home invasion happened at the apt next door? Where a large Crip set likes to hang and play, bringing with it drugs, guns, and violence? Have you ever been bashed in the face with a 40oz bottle of malt liquor?

What, you think you're the only white dude to live in a shitty neighborhood? I guess I could run off the list of crimes that have happened around me to try and establish legitimacy but, uhh, no offence but that's kinda gay.

2: Common "violent" crimes are those of opportunity. Theft being the primary. Here in Atlanta, the latest trend is *pull up to gas pump to get gas*, *car pulls up straight to your bumper*, *another car pulls up and backs up directly to your bumper*, *man jumps out, armed, and takes the keys to your car*, *they drive off at once and split directions sometime later*.

Theft and rape/sexual assault is the two front runners for violent crime. It happens every day in every major city, but the chances of it happening to you is low unless you like to frequent known shady areas of town. So you're right that it's a low chance. It depends on what you do, too. (For reference, avoid Clayton County/Riverdale area of Atlanta - it's where all the crime is)

Then you agree! My point was that a criminal organization specifically targeted malice over a perceived insult to a relative that never happened, and proceeded to construct a plan to victimize a dude who rarely leaves his home, with no profit motive, is insanely unlikely. It just doesn't make sense.

Nigga why did you come in here tryna flex on me and shit if you're gonna turn around and say the same thing? Niggas be trippin.

Lanny, I have no idea what set that guy off. Some people are just fucking insane. There are multiple possibilities, and none of them would have come close to a good justification for what occured. There are bad people in the world and sometimes you're unfortunate enough to be targeted by them. He was a violent psychopath.

I agree that it doesn't seem to make any fucking sense, and I had no idea what he was talking about when he came up to me and said I had disrespected his uncle. It could have taken as little as turning around and walking away without saying.

I don't know if he was part of a criminal organization, I simply strongly suspect it due to his actions. What kind of people have someone they can suddenly call over to break your arms for only $35 (He actually said that on the phone. Cheap pieces of shit.)?

It wasn't much of a plan and there were only two incidents. 2-3 days after it occured I had the windows open to air the place out and was taking out multiple trashbags. I had at least 6, possibly 9, tall ones outside due to everything I had to throw out, all the food they threw all over the floor and some things, that I was going to take to the dumpster in the park. Some time while I was doing that I heard him making a phone call to talking about me. Some of it was in spanish, but he was trying to describe the way I look, said something about that guy that ran and ran and ran, then told him that I needed to be taught another lesson and to make sure I didn't run this time. A short time before that I think one of the neighbors to the north may have called the cops on someone that was racing/doing tricks (Like donuts, whatever they call them.), which could have been what set him off. He did have a large truck with C H E V Y on the windshield which he was working on before he made the call. Another thing could have been that he may have seen me mediating for 40-60 minutes before starting the cleanup in order to center myself.

Jesus, you just have this fucking quasi-autistic mentality where you seem to be incapable of understanding anything that's outside of your small world. "Why would someone just randomly target people to kidnap, torture, rape, and murder? It doesn't make sense, where's the profit motive?" Fucking christ, you're only 23/24, so hopefully you grow out of this mentality one day and realize what a fucktard jackass you're capable of being.

The above paragraph certainly doesn't help things, increase the likelihood that you'll comprehend and believe this, but, yes, it does press my buttons. This is exactly the kind of shit people who experience abuse regularly go through. "Oh, that sounds too outlandish and I don't see why they would do that. They're probably just making it up or hallucinated the whole thing." I don't like hearing this when I'm talking about some serious shit that happened and culminated in me losing almost everything I owned and having to move back in with family that I hadn't spoken to in 9 years, which I really didn't want to do. I wanted to go to Berkeley City College and had already enrolled and everything, this fucked everything up.

I'm going to send a letter to the house to the north of where I lived asking them to email me and tell me what they saw. I think the mother of the household may have seen it.

I'm an expo/food runner. So I keep everything on the expo line stocked, I read the tickets on the screen and get trays together and put the right garnish and shit on everything (pickle, knife, lemon, syrup, butter, whatever), run the food out to the table, and do prep work for all the shit on the expo line before I leave. It's not hard, but it can be stressful when it's really busy, but I get tipped out 2% of food sales from each server every day and then get $4.25/hour on my paycheck. Usually I make more like $12-$15 an hour when I add the hourly to it, but days like today where it's super busy from the beginning of my shift and I don't get cut until the other expo shows up, I make more. I usually get cut around 2:30 instead of when I get relieved, but it was nonstop today. It's just stressful because we don't get breaks, and I'm on my feet speedwalking back and forth with a full tray on my hand all day. I don't know if I'd say it's worth it. Half the time I hate dealing with the bullshit and stress and want to find a better way to make money, but most of my shifts are like 5 hours, and I walk away with cash, and most days it's not crazy busy like today so it's not as bad. I'd like to not have to work a job I ultimately don't care about for money, but it's decent pay for what it is. Not like it takes any skill or whatever.

Yeah that's the other part of what I do is make sure the kitchen crew are making what needs to be made and doing it right, and asking for sides of dressing and bullshit I need from them. Usually the kitchen and I talk shit back and forth all day, which keeps me in a good mood.

Hey man if it is honest work and you are doing your best, I respect your grind.

I have been looking to get a challenging day job to keep myself occupied. I struggle with clinical depression and it's kind of silly but I'm really not keen on taking medication unless it's absolutely necessary, I try to manage it with discipline and activities but recently it has been getting tougher, I feel my energy draining and I've been finding myself staying at home more and more and I think idleness is a part of it. How do you like food running? Do you think it would be good for me to try? Is it challenging? Mentally, physically?
