2018-01-16 at 5:02 PM UTCIf you lift the most you can possibly lift you will hurt yourself eventually. Guys like me don't do a dozen slow reps each set cos we like hanging out in the gym all day, we do it cos we're scared of getting injured.
If you are smart you won't even try any sort of exercise for a month, and won't try any sort of deadlifts for like 6-12 months. That's how long it takes to heal. Loss of condition is slow enough that a months break in training won't make much difference.
You could try wearing a back brace or going to a pool and floating for a while to take some pressure off your back. -
