Fuck it, "the work that went into making the USA the most powerful nation in the world" was pretty much tripping into a war at the right time and ending up with an economy that was accidentally really powerful, then pretty much an uninterrupted sequence of wars and bullying of the rest of the world to sustain said economy. We deserve to lose our status as "world superpower". It would be nice if we could quietly regress back to an isolationist policy and lick the massive economic wounds that would inflict but that seems hopeful. -

What country or whatever, could change that do you think? Is there someone that could somehow "put us back in our place" at this point.? Pun intended after thinking about it- put US back in our place. Heh -

Listen you little shit, we put a lot of money and elbow grease into our strategic bullying.
Going back into isolationism is basically impossible at this point, unfortunately. Or, we'd basically die as a nation unless we can maintain our hegemony. -

Yee, this. Look at Enron. Or 2008. There were international factors involved but it was far and away us doing it to ourselves through a campaign of ideologically intentional ignorance to the dangers of market deregulation. We're doing a stellar job of fucking our own economy up. -
2018-01-04 at 9:57 AM UTCWhat if this leads to something that gives us an excuse to wipe out the middle east, possibly even utilizing nuclear weapons. Wouldn't that be a good thing? Get rid of the problem once and for all, those sand niggers are never going to get it together. My dream would be to see the same thing happen to Africa and Latin America.
-
2018-01-04 at 10:45 AM UTCWouldn't that be great? Genocide, massive irreversible environmental damage, heavy military spending, tremendous loss of natural resources.
Boy, that Trump, sure playing 12 dimensional chess on this one. -

If you look at what actually happened with the latest sanctions, the US had planned to cut all petroleum imports into North Korea by something like 80-90% but China argued it down to 80-90% of REFINED petroleum imports without affecting CRUDE petroleum, which NK is fully capable of refining in large volumes.
The US' recent statement on Jerusalem is a perfect example of their declining influence - almost the entire UN voted to condemn the move, including presumed US allies such as Canada, NZ and most of Europe and further, almost every Islamic (see: middle-eastern) country has directly condemned it and stated they no longer consider the US to be part of (or even working towards) the peace process… Including KSA, Jordan and ostensibly NATO-allied Turkey.
Without going into it too much, US world dominance relies mainly on their military, the petroleum market (essentially taking cuts of every transaction and manipulating prices to control development of friendly and hostile countries) and the world financial system, all of which are being directly challenged. Russian military has been almost fully modernised and arguably exceeds the US in areas such as missile and ECM tech and have demonstrated their quality in Syria and the Ukraine. Russia and China are floating gold-based currencies and if they gain enough support, will drop the value of the USD through the floor. They've also been building their own financial structures to counteract existing US-controlled staples like SWIFT and the IMF, minimising the possibility of unilateral sanctions and manipulation. More and more countries are refusing to trade oil in USD and instead demanding Euros or their own currency - they can't simply be bullied or bombed into submission like Iraq and Libya. The main goal of OBOR or whatever they call it now is to create integrated trade networks that aren't affected by US control of shipping lanes.
Yeah that's something that I think about a fair bit; every system is open to corruption in one way or another - the oligarchs from the US and Europe are likely to find a way to get their hooks into whatever new system emerges. I don't know.

you dont have a basic understanding of what it implies. you call the scores inaccurate because you cant understand why you're retarded

And not the same either. Or is it? Most people here that are clever are just that. They don't need to argue it. I personally don't need to ARGUE MY funniness I just want acceptance of it.
So, just accept.yoire smart. If you are, you know it. What the fuck?

exactly my point. as long as US can maintain their ability to project their powers around the world, their standing in the world is guaranteed.
and not only do russia and china do not have fleets to project their own power elsewhere, they also could not stop america from projecting its power everywhere it damm pleased.
you may see the technical loopholes that china and russia managed to negotiate to slip thru as a winn, but the way i see it is that US is still fully capable of maintaining its face and not losing it, and thats a win for them in terms of global standing. The US' recent statement on Jerusalem is a perfect example of their declining influence - almost the entire UN voted to condemn the move, including presumed US allies such as Canada, NZ and most of Europe and further, almost every Islamic (see: middle-eastern) country has directly condemned it and stated they no longer consider the US to be part of (or even working towards) the peace process… Including KSA, Jordan and ostensibly NATO-allied Turkey.
again i see these as theatrics, done by their respective government to appease their more ''conservative'' moslems within their own population so as to not being a terrorists magnet.
condemnations are just fancy, multi syllabled diplomatic words by over educated diplomats. actions speaks louder than words and so far i have yet to see any concrete actions taken to address these condemners' grievances.
are there any active economic sanctions against US ??? trade embargo maybe ??? how many significant countries had recalled their ambassadors ???? how many US consulates and embassies had been forcefully closed ???
i cant remember any really. words dont mean much. only actions.
and another thing : I HAVE FAITH IN jediS. if whatever america did make the jedis happy, the rest of the world [their power that be that is] too will be happy, sooner or later. trust me, i trust the power of jediS.Without going into it too much, US world dominance relies mainly on their military, the petroleum market (essentially taking cuts of every transaction and manipulating prices to control development of friendly and hostile countries) and the world financial system,
in addition to all these they also have a bottomless, or ceilingless debt. money is purchasing power but so are debts, and this has enabled the US to remain at the forefront of tech and innovation which spurs consumption. massive, massive consumption, which are all very important to both the developing and developed economies.
and this debt has gotten so big i think it has reached the point of it being too big to fail so many countries around the world, especially china, would prefer long term stability rather than see it all fail and came crashing down and will do anything in their power to prop americas debt up and keep them buying.
so no worries there. american, and their government will still be able to spend way beyond their means.all of which are being directly challenged. Russian military has been almost fully modernised and arguably exceeds the US in areas such as missile and ECM tech and have demonstrated their quality in Syria and the Ukraine.
i dont think so. russian involvement in syria and crimea is just limited to the size of a small town and china is just meddling in a shithole african country.
they both dont have fleets of carriers and super carriers and decades of experience of running them all over the world so whatever their achievement and capabilities is it all came to nothing if they cant project their might into an equally super superpower.
but im not the authority on this so you might want to consult finny for an actual educated opinion.Russia and China are floating gold-based currencies and if they gain enough support, will drop the value of the USD through the floor. The main goal of OBOR or whatever they call it now is to create integrated trade networks that aren't affected by US control of shipping lanes.
in the end, at least in our lifetime, whatever china and the rest of the world can come up with will only be able to complement the currently US-dominated infrastructure, not supplanting it.
and with the USs capability to innovate new tools and new ways of getting things done, the world might actually ended up teetered to ''USD'' and american infrastructure forever. -
