    Evidently not, since you aren't getting the results you want. Like I said, if you want to do strength training you need to stop doing high intensity/weight and start doing high rep. You need to *actually* do strength training. This is not at all controversial information and it is worrying that you, not knowing this, are asking about using steroids to compensate for your ignorance.

    Muscles start to atrophy after like 3 or 4 days. If you feel like you need to wait a week, it's very possible you're just damaging yourself.

    Steroids might even be a bad thing for you cos they cause your muscles to grow way faster than your ligaments and other connective bits and pieces. You juice away, make mad progress, next thing training accident. Many such cases!

    Plus when do you stop with the progress? You going for a high score or something? You're just going to hurt yourself sooner or later.

    Lifting heavy is a huge meme. More reps at lighter weight work just as well, so long as you go slow, maintain long time under tension, and lift to failure.

    Also make sure your diet is on point, lots of whey protein and eggs. Maybe even supplement creatine and other such things.

    Also steroids are great, but if you wait till you're maybe 35, 40 or so, and heading downhill they're even better. If you're under 25 stay away, as they'll retard your growth.

    falco, seriously, do you use a public gym or workout with friends/gym buddies, or do you work out alone in private? i'm asking because it could be a reason why you're going wrong here.

    ok, is it possible the reason you want to be able to lift more is because you're seeing other people at your gym able to lift more than you, making you feel inadequate? this is the biggest reason people get into using steroids in the first place. its why i avoid public gyms and train alone as its almost impossible to not get competitive when training around other people. when training you should push to your limits, but when you start competing with others you're then pushing to other peoples limits. that is never a good thing.

    Pyramid de-loading.

    Example: dumbbell incline press

    Let's say you can reliably push 50 lb in each hand for 10 reps with good form. That's your baseline.

    Push your 10 reps at 50, then 10 at 45 and keep deloading etc. etc. until you're using the 2.5 pound girly weights.

    Go get a drink of water, then come back and do it again until the point when you can't do 10 reps of one or another weight. Doesn't matter which weight.

    Now queue up to whatever is next in your split and do the same. Pyramid deload from your 10 rep (perfect form) max till failure.

    Personally I usually fail on the bigger weights, but sometimes I'll not be able to push 10 5's. It's a good feeling.
