2017-09-22 at 5:54 AM UTCI'd be in.
We talked about this once before (at least), I think the best way to do it would be to create a 'current game' subforum, and grant the DM mod access to it so they can control the flow of the thread -
2017-09-22 at 6:27 AM UTCDo we have any artistic talent in our midst? DA is a gigantic ball of cancer, but I recently found a few people on there who do AMAZING fantasy type sketches or paintings for tabletop gaming and avatars and such. Been considering commissioning some drawings.

2017-09-22 at 3:31 PM UTCTakes about two-three days for one person to make a really good D&D game module on paper. It's a lot of work, because you have to write everything down in such a way that you make sure and predict the unpredictable. You have to prepare for every possible scenario, and have an action outlined in advance for it, or else the game sucks. If you're going to write one out, it has to be damned good, or it's not even worth the time.

As I understood it, a lot of it is the DM's reacton on the fly. But if we do it through the forums, itll be a lot slower and easier for a DM to react and counter the players, come up with dialogue, etc. I mean as with most things I imagine for the boards, itll probably never happen, but its a fun thought. -
2017-09-23 at 3:16 AM UTCIm gonna start fucking around in Roll20 and see how it looks
-
2017-09-23 at 3:45 AM UTCYeah the thing about making your own modules is you'll never know what choices the PCs will make, so a lot of DMs fall into the trap of being upset that a whole bunch of their writing is going to go unused and end up railroading the adventure in that direction. Which is bullshit.

Im reading through some of their campaign material, and the monster manual, and thinking about just whipping together a short campaign to see how people take to it. -

2017-09-23 at 6:11 AM UTCI've an off an on member of an text based rpg for a while. You create and develop a character, and all battle and everything is determined by rp quality and some dice rolls. No auto hits. I wonder how easily those skills would translate to this.

Which one? I play Armageddon MUD off and on. Been quite a while now. Bout time to write up another character. It's the most roleplay intensive MUD I've played, and the history and culture is really fleshed out. It's been around for at least a couple decades, probably longer, so they've had quite a while to develop all of that. It's loosely based on Dune and Dark Sun. -
2017-09-23 at 10:23 AM UTCIt's a dragon ball z one. I've been in this tenure for about 8 months so I'm finally getting more powerful and getting more battles under my belt though I'm still light years behind even the top 25.
